They definately are.

I'd hope you're right but I can't see it although I absolutely love Feeder.

I hope they play, seen them twice (well, once and a half) now, and both times they've been ace, but also both times I've missed my favourite song by them (My Perfect Day - <3 Polythene!). Got there for the last couple of bars at Leeds '08, and according to my mates they played it for the soundcheck whilst we were waiting for them at Rock City - when I'd gone to find a toilet >____<... they didn't play it that night  :P .

They hardly ever play the older stuff now :P we're lucky if we even get High from that far back. Their sets are clogged full of the poppy crap like Lost and found and Save Us :/

Feeder would play as 4th headliners I would guess. They will play higher than other bands of their popularity because of their history at the festival and the fact that even people without an album will probably be able to name a few songs.

Most people are surprised how many songs they actually know by Feeder :P
Buck Rogers, Just A Day, Just The Way I'm Feeling, Lost and Found, High, Insomnia, Shatter....

I'll stop hogging this thread now.

It is great watching a band progress, the first time I saw them was in 97 on the High tour and they still are a great band but I do agree they should play some older stuff but it would probably split the crowd.

Not denying it's nice seeing a band change what they're doing, but would be nice for them not to completely forget their older material, especially for us who were just too young to see them before (like, I'd have been 6/7 around the time they were touring Swim/Polythene). Though it is nice, looking at some previous setlists, that they usually play High, and occasionally My Perfect Day.

I am a big feeder fan but in my opinion the time for feeder to play their older stuff should be their own tours.  A band like feeder should be playing greatest hit sets in their festivals.

Good point, but from a 12 song set a few older ones wouldn't go a miss.

Think the best setlist i've seen them do was probably the Echo Park tour - played shitloads of old stuff - Stereoworld, Descend, Shade, Sweet 16, My Perfect Day, Cement, Can't Dance To Disco.... these songs are classics. Brixton 1999 still the best gig i've seen them do. Suffocate with strings in the encore, magical. Their older material is really missed in their setlists nowadays.

I reckon if MCR do somehow end up headlining the main, Feeder will headline the R1 tent at the same time.

As an alternative view though, are Feeder considered alternative enough to do an early slot on the main then headline the Lock-up? Jimmy Eat World did it, and they aren't a far cry from Feeder musically.

I wouldn't mind that set up at all, i'm not a fan of MCR so to have an alternative actually worth going to would be brilliant

Do Feeder ever get played on the Lock Up Show? Thats the criteria rather than being 'alternative'.

Bored me each time I've seen them anyhow but I won't rant. NME headliner seems possible - I know FR seem quite happy to be lazy in their bookings, but if they were to play main again, then it would probably be around the same slot they've been booked for last two times they've played - so maybe tent headliners for a change?

Feeder are too big to headline the lock up, they may not be as big as they once were but have sold far more in the uk than anyone else i can remember headlining that tent.
