We stumbled across Folk in a Box at the Royal Festival Hall on New Year's Eve. The blurb from that evening says.....

"Folk in a Box does exactly what it says on the tin (or box). One musician, one song, and a very exclusive auditorium for one".

We thought we'd check this out...... and found out that one of the organisers (and one of the Musicians in the Box that night) was Emily Barker, she of the Red Clay Halo and an EOTR 2009 veteran  :P

The description doesn't do it justice, it's a real treat having your very own private performance - I was treated to an amazing version of Townes van Zandt's Waiting around to Die, courtesy of Frank Doody - spinetingling :P It's lovely to be able to chat to the musicians as well - Frank said he finds it a totally different experience as a performer, being able to adapt your performance to the "audience"'s reaction.

The performers that evening were Emily, Frank, Dom Coyote and Pepe Belmonte - all lovely people, as were their "support crew" :P

Sipperana and I both think it would fit right in at EOTR - I imagine it somewhere down near the Piano Stage :P

Elfy, just noticed that nobody has replied to your 'Folk In A Box'. So will this do?

Awww, gee, yes, thanks for the bump :P

I maintain what I said before - they'd be a fab addition to the EOTR repertoire  :P
