TCV - SR
Libertines - R
Don't know where these came from but personally would love to see TCV again, they were great last year and i couldn't afford their tour. Main stage this year i guess?
Libertines, don't bother me personally. Good band, but if they played they'd take a spot which could be much better used, but that's just my opinion.

We got some well-sourced info which strongly suggested they were likely, but it only took a few checks for us to be able to dismiss it.

i just dont get how TCV can go from being the support act for Arctic Monkeys 1 minute to Reading Headliners the next?
and only 1 album wtf!? i was thinking maybe 3rd/4th from top on the main stage at best!

I think they're probably second from top but consider are they any bigger than QOTSA themselves and they were only second top? On another note how about QOTSA, FOOs and Led Zep for Reading. Then Them Crooked Vultures would definitely be there.

haha yeh they won't headline, well i very much doubt they will
i'd say 3rd down on main?
subbing would be a bit generous surely

Cannot believe that they would even consider Them Crooked Vultures as headliners. There album didn't even make the top 10 and I don't think they have had much airplay for the singles, the first one even failing to make the top 100. Day tickets would no way sell out for it and it would have a poor effect on the reputation of the festival picking a poor headliner.
If they are I can only assume that they were booked incredibly early with a belief that when the album came around they would be massive which hasn't been the case. If this has been the case then I don't know what they're paying Melvin Benn so much for taking such a stupid risk on a headliner. I'd expect them to get try and get another band to headline at shorter notice to fill the void cause it really is a stupid waste of a headliner.

Vultures would have a new album by then, supergroup of their stature with two albums seems a fair headliner when you compare to the likes of Razorlight and so on, and if you take into account that L&R will sell out no matter who's headlining, it seems entirely possible to me.

I'm guessing those saying surely not haven't actually seen them live - the album is woeful frankly, but live they are incredible.

best live act i've seen all year, way over and above the likes of metallica, NIN, skunk anansie, the prodigy and AC/DC (all of whom were astonishingly good...)
but headliner? seems a bit iffy to me...
but letting em have 2 hours to just be TCV sounds like a plan

i saw them at reading last year
it was possibly one of, if not the best thing i saw last year. true.
But at the same time, im surprised they're justified for headlining
it's more out of shock im sayig surely not, look at the members - they can easily pull it off
but i dont think it'll go down too well when announced, unless something big happens between now and then
so are we sayin atm that our 3 headliners are GD, B182 & TCV?

I dont see this happening. Not as headliner. They're just not that big. Unless they were to co headline, maybe with blink. I dont know. Actually i cant even see that
3rd from top, nme headliner. Thats as high as i think they could go.
