New album out in 2010 and they are doing a tour too.
Surely they are going to play. Would love to see them on the other stage. Opinions?

Would love a bit of Interpol, Pyramid or Other would be good. Possibly even John Peel headliners? I'm not sure how big they are in this country? Assuming the headliners on the other stages are big acts then I think they could do it.

Seen them twice and both times were so, so dull! Sure they'd make many happy though!

Yes please. Maybe not the most exhilarating live performers but the songs more than make up for it.

they were on before Libertines on a very hot late afternoon on the Saturday of '03 if I recall correctly. they weren't great, but solid. Michael Stipe was watching from the side of the stage. They've fallen back a bit in popularity, so can't see they garnering more than a late afternoon/early evening Other Stage slot, no later than 7 pmish, esp. on the 40th anniversary year with supposedly big acts playing

They did headline Latitude back in 2008 ! , and I cannot understand why Glasto did not get em
that year,
I was at that set , and a few hours later wandering past the stage towards the dance tent I ran
into Carlos the bass player and said hello. It was a red hot dusty day and he was dressed all in
black like a cowboy. Everyone else was in shorts and t shirts.
With the sun and the heat and the dust he looked like something from a Serge Leonne film.

Yess please. They'd be great if they played on RH day. RH, Interpol, Editors, National....

i was sure i made an Interpol thread a month or so back when i learned of their new album and plans to tour this year.
i love Interpol but have never managed to see them live so would love for them to be there, as for their popularity waining i don't think that's the case they're still as popular as they ever where it's just they've gone off the radar a bit by taking a break.
as for people who claim they are dull live, their kind of music and style doesn't lead me to believe their performances will be some kind of energetic affair and a more laid back chilled out performance, why you would expect any different after listening to their music is beyond me.

I have seen em loads of times , and you are right , they do not run round the stage performing
metal poses on the PA !
But they are brilliant live , very eclectic , they keep everything to a minimum ( lighting included ) and
just play the songs perfectly.
If they play next year I will be there no matter who else is on !

Not expecting a 1970's punk show, just a little bit of crowd interaction and look like your enjoying playing to thousands of fans. Maybe that's a little bit too much to ask?

They were far better than RATM at TITP08, glad I left the main stage to catch them in the Pet Sounds tent, amazing performance

Saw them play the OS in 2005 and couple times other than that - apart from "Evil" which is quality they are MEGA dull. One of the most overrated bands of the last ten years IMO. Total style over substance.

Nah mate your wrong, that award goes to The Strokes. They are about as boring as you can get. In my opinion of course

I like Interpol's look and sound (to a certain extent) on record. But live they just don't shake my tree. Last time (at Oxegen 2007 methinks) there was only bout 2000 watching them on the second stage there and I'd say 2/3 of them were just there to hear "Evil". Only my opinion but "Slow Hands", "PDA" etc etc just don't come over that great live.

The Strokes arent the best outfit either but you have to admit their first album is a serious piece of work.

Ahh fair enough.
Well I'll check them out anyway cause I aint seen them live yet and I want to, might even buy tickets to their own shows when they get released and the tour dates our announced.
And I only like a couple of songs on their first album but the rest of their stuff is not that great. And on the live footage I've seen they tend not to lose it in their music which is what I like and try to hard to look cool. Perhaps this is the same for Interpol, but I will hopefully find out in June.

Seriously, what am i reading? Interpol are possibly the most underrated band of the moment. The consistency of brilliance on all 3 albums means they should be held in much higher regard.
Seen them live a few times and they are spellbinding. Glasto would be very lucky to have them - just a shame they won't be in a headline slot that they so thoroughly deserve!!
If Bloc Party can headline the Other last year, then surely Interpol would more than carry it in 2010.
