You aren't wrong, as far as we've been told, Friday will just have bands from 5 or 6pm onwards. A few on Saturn stage (with AC closing) and some in the (apparently 2 ) smaller tented stages. So essentially it is 3 days, but not 3 full days, more like 2 and a half days

There are two main stages, Saturn, the smaller one will be open
The bigger stage, Apollo, will not be open, as far as we are aware. Plans can change though.
For example last year Bohemia was only going to be open at night after mainstage bands, to keep with the no clashes system, however they decided there was no point keeping it out of use all day, and hence bohemia became a proper stage that ran all day. The same could happen here, they might figure that leaving apollo closed is a waste - if they can get some good acts to play on the Friday to fill up both saturn and apollo that is.

Many thanks for the info, very useful for me. Going this year, first time at Sonisphere.

Sorry for the stupid question but do they do day tickets for Sonisphere? Sunday's lineup is looking too good to miss!
