I interviewed Melvin Benn yesterday, and was talking about Reading and Leeds. He told me all three headliners were already booked, he wouldn't give any clues.

However later in the interview he revealed he'd booked the headliners at the festivals this year. Saying he'd approached the artists directly.

I remember seeing him leave the backstage of the NME tent at Reading before Them Crooked Vultures took to the stage.

I am now thinking could they be the headliners? Were there any other acts on the bill that could headline next year? Or where there any acts not on the bill, there as guests who were at either festival who it may be? Any thoughts people?

For Reading fans the most important news was that he made it clear the police would not be tolerating any 'hi-jinx' next year. Festival goers must either behave or risk "ruining their lives" with a criminal record.

The interview will be on eFestivals next week.

:P

Surely if he was seen approaching TCV that points more to the Foos headlining than TCV themselves? There's no way TCV are big enough, especially not on just one album. Though I suppose they've got no shortage of other material they could put into a longer set...

They won't headline, Foo Fighters might. I don't think any band at this year's festival will headline next year. REM are still the dark horse in my opinion.

Not that I know of, was just saying they are my tip. When you say festivals, did you mean Reading and Leeds or all festivals?

TCV headlining would be so weak. Will never happen anyway not nearly big enough. Will be mid Main probably. 4th/5th maybe... only becuase of its members though/

Specifically at Reading/Leeds. Did Melvin go to Leeds? I saw him at Reading a couple of times.

He did go to Leeds, not sure for how long or when. I just can't see that all three headliners next year will have been at this year's festival, that doesn't sound likely. Foo Fighters would be likely, and maybe there were people hanging out in VIP that we don't know of.

As much a I love TCVs album and stage prsence etc they arnt big enough I suppose it could be either 3 of the three bands they originally come from foos obviously rumooured every were, there was a thread on led zep on the glasto board and queens of the stone age could allways be a possiblity.

I hope foos headline but hope TCV play Nme again dont thnk they would suit mainstage but if they play im sure itll be main stage

REM would be brilliant, but I doubt it'll happen. Foo's are fun and everything, and I guess a million times better than someone like MCR headlining.

One band that come to mind for me would be Biffy Clyro. Marmaduke duke played last year so might of contacted them. I dont think they are big enough though.

hasnt MCR's moment well and truly passed though? does anyone really care enough to give them top billing?
