...had a strong hope that REM would make an appearance this year. Anyone with me or did I get out on the wrong side of the bed?!

I'd go along

I woke up this morning and stubbed my toe on the wardrobe so hard it bled from behind the nail. f**king hurt I can tell you.
But yeah, I'd be chuffed with REM as Saturday Pyramid headliner (which is the only possible slot they could do).

REM are my favourite band so I'd love them to play. But they'd quite happily play before U2 on the friday, so I wouldn't say they have to headline to be there...

Having REM play below U2 would be insulting to REM if you ask me (but then I'm not bothered about U2 as a band and hate Bono).

R.E.M. would be incredible. Always wanted to see them and I almost did when they played Manchester last year, but (ironically) the Manics were playing Leeds that evening.

Pixies before R.E.M.? That would just be...oh man, I can't actually think of a word that describes how amazing that would be!

Can't we just replace U2 with R.E.M.?

They did a huge European Tour in 2008 , so I guessed that would have been the time for em
to play.
I do not think they are about next year !

I would be very happy with thst - they are surely part of Glasto history (and great live every time I've seen them!). Prefer them to U2 deffo.

I woke up today and . . . . remembered what its like to wake up, unzip the tent, peer out into the cool fresh air of the site, see a few peoples walking around with toothbrushes, bog roll in hand, hear a few radios start up, laughing, coughing, groaning, the sound of the long drop doors crashing, whiff of old campfire from the night before, and the sun on your face.

Reading all the other replies just made me want REM to be there even more...until I read your post Pinhead and thought, you know what, I don't care who plays, it'll still be FOOKIN AWESOME!
