Early Bird tickets priced at Euro 199 are now on sale

Ireland's complete music and arts festival that offers an array of fine music, theatre, comedy, holistic health and art. Musically it's a more eclectic mix of artists than the other Irish mainstream events.

Back for its seventh year, and held from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th September at Stradbally Hall Estate, Co Laois - less than an hour from Dublin.

Early bird tickets are priced at 199 euros for an adult weekend ticket. There will be no single day tickets. Family Camping Tickets and Campervan Tickets are not yet available.

To buy tickets:

Far too early for any rumours for this one?

We can usually start eliminating acts who won't play when the T In The Park/Oxegen lineups start being revealed.

Hoping for Pixies, The Cure, Animal Collective, The Specials, PiL, Faithless amongst others.

Anyway, always a cracking lineup, and my favourite festival of the year.

Well only a few days to go till announcement on Wednesday, good old Sponger has created a thread in the EP forum called Confirmed for EP, basically he has checked certain rumours, checked the myspaces and groups pages, with EP confirmed in their tour dates schedule. http://forum.electri...php?f=3&t=14023

There was also this from the thread, but it seems dubious to the style that is Electric Picnic. "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_P ... 0_festival

Early bird tickets for Electric Picnic 2010 went on sale on 4 December 2009.[33] Details are scheduled to be announced on March 24, 2010.[34] Hot press have today announced(19th March 2010) that The Rolling Stones,Bruce Springsteen with The E Street Band and The Strokes will be headlining this years Electric Picnic.Mick Jagger has reportedly said that "I'm so glad to be going back to Ireland. It's a wonderful country with beautiful women."Other acts that have also been confirmed are electro rock band MGMT,former Beatles frontman Paul Mccartney,The Pixies,Mumford and Sons,The Gaslight Anthem and Florence and the Machine.Much more bands are to be announced on the 24th of March."
Anyways I managed to get one of the last early bird tickets yesterday afternoon. WOO HOOO!

Lineup is announced on March 24th, I think.

Obviously won't get Bruce Springsteen or the Stones.

Looking likely that we'll get some or all of the following;

Pavement
PiL
The Specials
Roxy Music
Leftfield
Mumford & Sons
Heaven 17
Marc Almond
Hot Chip
LCD Soundsystem

Well there doesnt seem to be many Picnic users on this forum, anyway will keep the post alive occasionally, just so its visible. I suppose EP has their own fairly busy forum.

The EP forum is hopping.

I'd love to go, have been to Stradbally but never for the festival. On my list of things to do. Maybe in a few years.
Best Ireland has to offer in my opinion. Oxegen is far too commercialized and aims at the 17 to 25 age group.
