I saw him in Taste, and even supported him at a festival in the south of France (in a bull ring...), where I thought he was never ever going to stop...  he was still playing at some stupid hour of the morning, and half of the punters had left, and he just kept on and on...

A good blues guitarist was obviously a good idea for the Stones (a la Mick Taylor), but ultimately, very frustrating (for the guitarist)

I've only ever walked out of one gig in my life.  Normally no matter how average a band I'll stick with it and give them the benefit of the doubt.  The one exception was Mick Taylor who was so dire it was unbelievable.  About half the audience just gave up and quit.  No sparkle, no soul, no nothing.

Why?

As you know, all the widdly stuff is a bit beyond me.  

I fell asleep during a Sabbath gig in the early 90s.  Tony "The Cat" Martin era, it was.

no.. it was the Mick Taylor being in the Stones 'thing' when they were at their (arguably) best, was what I was referring to
