Not so many "bams" at Rockness that's for sure.

Friday, 11 June 2010
South Africa v Mexico, Gp A, 15:00
Uruguay v France, Gp A, 19:30

Saturday, 12 June 2010
South Korea v Greece, Gp B, 12:30
Argentina v Nigeria, Gp B, 15:00
England v USA, Gp C, 19:30

Sunday, 13 June 2010
Algeria v Slovenia, Gp C, 12:30
Serbia v Ghana, Gp D, 15:00
Germany v Australia, Gp D, 19:30

So Jim has confirmed the football will be shown:

we will have the football on somewhere for sure. lots of people have asked about it but it definitely wont be in one of the big arenas.

I see there are some threats that have been made against the England game:

South African police insist their World Cup security plans are adequate despite threats made ahead of England's match against the United States.

An Algeria-based cell, claiming to be a branch of terrorist group al-Qaeda, said it will strike on 12 June on the day of the Group C match in Rustenberg.

An online article refers to an "explosion causing hundreds of deaths".

Could be worth watching.

I think the football is in the same position as some of the acts...if you don't want to watch it don't! Just because it's being played doesn't mean you have to sit and watch it.

I'll personally be out listening to some music though :P

I'm pretty sure TITP made a point of NOT showing the world cup (possibly final) in 2006 so lets hope Rockness is the same. If you want to shout abuse at a TV stay at home or in your local dive.

Aye, I'm the same, ever since Thierry joined the thievery corporation and we got shafted. C'est La Vie.

Ah if only, Rockness + Ireland at the world cup would have taken some beating, what a start to the summer it could have been  :P

So what would the repercussions of wearing an England top on the Saturday be, seeing as one of my mates is talking about it? Just friendly banter I'd hope. :P

Personally dont think there would be a problem with wearing an England top but if England lose be prepared for the piss to be taken royally. Mostly jealousy seeing as Scotland cant even qualify :P

Hehe that's a risk he's going to have to take! I can honestly see that happening as well, England always seem to play crap in their first group game then scrape through by the skin of their teeth!

Don't see a problem with the football being shown and I don't see why so many people are so against it being shown on a screen somewhere? If you don't want to watch it, go and check out some acts, that's what I'll be doing.

If Scotland were there however, I'm sure I'd be watching it.

Been to TITP twice before and I can see why they wouldn't want to show any football there. Don't get me wrong, I love T and think the atmosphere is great (most of the time) but it always feels like there's the potential for trouble and football could bring out the worst in people.
