Lol, reminds me of a time I had to collect an American named Stacy, spent ten minutes wandering around looking for a woman.

Hadn't realised U2 had US gig, but as regards the legends touring - AC/DC and Van Halen are big rumours for Download (week before), TCV are almost certainly doing Glasto and probably Download.
The Who would be incredible, just want the announcements so I can book my hotel and travel!

Soundgarden are rumoured to be at Download too, but the drummer will be off with Pearl Jam to their next dates, so it's unlikely they'll be at HRC! Paul McCarntey was heavily rumoured last year, maybe he'll make a return to London in the summer, that wouldn't be too bad...

I'm already booked up with flights etc (was getting pricier by the week). There's not much I wouldn't go to see, while I'm down there... unless it's like Bon Jovi. And if it is something, I'm sure I'll find something else to do!

And there was me hoping for some '80s hair metal - cause there was no way I was paying £200 to get close enough to actually see them at the O2!

Haha well, you do make a good point in that the pricing is bound to be (it better be!!!) the same each day, regardless of who's playing. Means that even if it was someone like The Rolling Stones or U2, you don't have to sell your shoes to get there (assuming you have good shoes... I don't, I sold mine to go see Bruce Springsteen in Glasgow last year.... :P )

Anone think Stone Temple Pilots could play on the Friday as theyare playing Download?

Not sure about the other two days but what about the Eagles or Bob Dylan or Pink Floyd (keep hearing rumours about them in the last month about a possible show in London as Roger Waters is rumoured to be touring).

The Eagles are someone I would put money on anyway! Just got this feeling...

Bob Dylan too, but I heard rumours he wasn't going to be in the UK this year.

I don't think Pink Floyd will happen, and the Roger Waters tour will be later this year/into next year. David Gilmour is anyone's guess though, anything he does is kept hush hush until the moment it's officially announced but he would be a great headliner. Can't see it though, unfortunately.

Oh and I also have a feeling about John Fogerty, but I'm not sure why... I don't even know if he'd be headliner material (although I think personally it would kick ass!).

David Gilmour and AC/DC would be greatest as headliners. It would make a perfect festival.

I've some hope for John Fogerty too, and Billy Idol (he'll be on tour around Europe in the summer), but these not for headliners of course. They deserve but they can't.

Stone Temple Pilots would be welcome too. And personally The Cult and Iggy & The Stooges would make a valued line up for me.

I'm not too sure if AC/DC will make it, I heard that Download will be their only UK date this year. However, it would be awesome if they were there.

And David Gilmour would be a dream!

What about a return for Clapton, but with Winwood (or even Jeff Beck!) this time? Or a return for Peter Gabriel?

I'm getting impatient! Hurry up and announce someone else!!!!  :P

Could Guns N' Roses play as i think they are on tour at the moment and also I think it is R.E.M. 30th anniversary this year as well.

Also, Fleetwood Mac are on tour as well.

Just wish they would announce the other two headliners as that will determine if I need to book a hotel or not.

Well as I've said before HRC normally gets the Glasto headliners or second liners these days so watch out (although as said U2 might not be available), also with it being 30 year anniversary of Donington Rocks/Download you might find some massive bands in UK during that weekend, just hope they stay on for the Hyde Park event.

This may sound crazy but KISS might end up on the bill as they have big links with Hard Rock Cafe in London (Paul Stanley's Iceman guitar is there) so don't rule them out either.

As long as i know REM are not on tour. They're on studio.

I think Kiss are not an option already. They will play in Spain on june 25 and Belgium on june 27. It will be hard to come to UK on 26th, and they will tour UK in May.
I don't know when Guns n' Roses will launch the European tour but could be a possible headliner. But if i have to guess i'd say they will be headlining Download festival with AC/DC and Metallica (self confirmed).

Nobody said AC/DC at Download will be exclusive festival appearance or UK only appearance. Promoters would use this argument, believe me. According to their shedule they can only book more concerts in UK in the end of june. So i will keep dreaming... :P

Yeah, unfortunately R.E.M. are indeed in the studio ( and I don't mean unfortunately as in "Oh no, they're making MORE music?!" because I love R.E.M.  :P ) so they're pretty unlikely.

When I read KISS there, I had a sudden "Bingo!" moment, but it's true that their dates make it pretty hard for them to be there.

U2 are nigh on impossible, unless Bono can break time barriers. Shame too, would be my #1 choice for headliner out of some of the options available.

Muse are rumoured to play Glastonbury, as are Coldplay, but I think both are unlikely due to the fact that Muse are already playing 2 huge dates in London this year, and Coldplay played last year so I think that would weaken ticket sales considerably and they wont want that.

G N' R... I'm not sure... I used to like them, but I've heard terrible, terrible things lately... It wouldn't be the worst choice, that's for sure.

Sure hope it isn't Fleetwood Mac anyway, I've seen them on so many "Worst gigs of '09" lists, that would be a total bummer.

Apologies, I didn't mean to suggest they weren't good; in fact, I would still go see them, but I'd just have those reviews in the back of my mind, and it would just ruin it for me.

I'm in a similar situation where Bob Dylan is concerned - I think he's awesome live, but critic reviews just destroy him.

I'll take your word for it though  :P

Apparently Rush are talking to Download and Kiss are rumored to be in talks but I heard someone say they were rumored for an event in london.

I don't know if they are waiting for their arena dates to sell out to announce something?

I'm sure I read that on the Download forum, doesn't mean they will play though.

Would love them for Hyde Park as I think they would be a great headliner.
