I'm 19 and in fairness live away from there for most of the time (at Uni) but when I'm home I go places like The Shed, Sumo etc and I don't see much of anything worthwhile in terms of local bands. There is definatley a Kasabian/Oasis thing going on.
that big kasabian/oasis thing has only really happened in last few yrs...

i see where ya coming from, but go try and investigate some of the more underground stuff! :P

The Attik has closed?! Truth be told I hadn't been there in a couple of years but I hadn't heard it had closed. Shame.

I must have been 16 then, last time I went to the attik but it was a fun small venue. Seems to be the way many of those places are going now...

I've heard rumours but I thought thats all they were, I've not read anything official. It would be a massive blow but it's future hasn't been safe for a long time.

I thought it had reopened a couple of months ago?  That's a shame if it's gone, because it was the only venue in Leicester that attract slightly more well-known bands.

Kevin at the Shed seemed intent on making bands bring in the punters themselves.  Sumo occasionally get a few decent acts.

Tbh I always though Leicester Square could be amazing if they put more regular events on, last few years they've sporadically had gigs such as Skindred and Sepultura, baffling that they only put on gigs very rarely.

I get what you mean by the "Oasis wannabes" comment Thomas, you mean people like The Dirty Backbeats and The Screening, right?

De mont has just booked Biffy Clyro and Sumo get a very small amount of known acts. I get your point about The Shed, that's very true. The Charlotte did reopen, but I think it's future is unknown.

Yeah I mean The dirty Backbeats (Although they are decent) and that kind of sound which is still very popular.

If they're headlining V, which they are, they aren't playing Reading and Leeds, the two fests make the acts play exclusive to one or the other

The Sun said last year Green Day were headlining Leeds. The Moral of the story is that you can't trust a word they say...

If they print 1000 made up stories then they're bound to get one right. I'm not saying they are always wrong but they often are.

This Sun story is obviously based upon the article on Gigwise, which in itself carries no weight and basically just says "Kasabian are headlining V2010...yeah, um...yeah they're headlining...uh...that's all I guess..."
