I think that's one down and 499 threads to go
Seriously though this changes nothing, they were always a possibility, now they're still a possibility.
Hopefully V will snap them up and we'll get one of the other headliners that will be about like.... erm... hmm..................................... My Chemical Romance?! Really?!.....Bollocks.

Would be a good headliner... huge act to headline next year semms good

Well, itd give them the english exclusive they love to brag about. And if theyre big enough to headline TitP, theyre big enough to headline R/L. Although i usually get the feeling that, as crazy as it may sound, id rather have an interesting headliner who isnt exclusive, rather than an average one cause they are.

It's a done deal as far as I can see, If The Strokes play beneath them I will be happy. OK it's not great news but they have had a lot worse headliners without a doubt (Garbage? Stereophonics? James? GENESIS!?)

I did as well and thought they were pretty good, although it was broad daylight and I can imagine them being better in the dark.
Anyway, I'd be happy with this. Sure they're "OH NOES TEH INDIE!!!11" but have built their reputation on being a good live band and will put on a better show than KOL, Arctics, The Killers and Razorlight did!

I don't see how this makes it more likely they'll play but in saying that they probably will. I can't stand them and would avoid them like the plague but I'd hope they'd have someone decent up against them like The Flaming Lips.

i'd be pretty happy with the strokes followed by kasabian.
kasabian are well worthy of a headline slot.......if the arctic zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (sorry i just fell asleep) monkeys can headline, then kasabian can easily have a go.
if they do headline it will be good to hear songs like 'british legion', 'doberman' and 'butcher blues' as every time i have seen them recently they have only played their singles which IMO aren't as good.
