what are the chances do you think, even if i sit there an hour before they go on sale ready to buy and constantly refresh the page? how many tickets will go back on sale? (i'd take a stab in the dark guess at around 10,000?)
i need tickets!

They were slim to start with, but now that U2 are confirmed, then it will be a bit harder, and if Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin confirm as well, you may as well not bother. Very few people will give up their tickets, and the demand for the remainder will be immense.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I would hope to catch a random resale although they seem to have compleatly dried up now. You never know! Good luck, it won't harm your chances if your on before.

Don't give up hope yet, I'm looking for tickets as well (for friends otherwise I'm on my own), the chances are slim but if you keep checking the seetickets g2010 page and on here, you might get an opportunity at some point. Also there's a mailing list somewhere on the forum you can sign up for that would notify you if tickets were to come on sale again.
There has been the odd random resale, it does appear that these have dried up as pointed out but that seemed to be the case before the last resale a few weeks ago and all of a sudden they were on sale without warning again so it's not impossible for there to be another random resale like that. If it does come down to the official resale, you have to do as you said in the OP, be on the site an hour before, so you're there the second the go on sale, many people got straight through when they did this on t-day but obviously it probably won't be that simple.

To be perfectly honest, even though there won't be that many going on sale you have as much chance of getting them as anybody else. Its a lottery whether you get through or not but it's the same for everybody no matter whether they are trying to get tickets just because of U2 or not.
Good luck.
