Can see them droping back on the resistance a little bit for glasto, maybe add another one from each album.

Make sure you listen to citizen erased, they hardly ever play it but its an amazing song and my favourate muse track.

Defiantly got a listen to H.A.R.R.P, that should cover you live up to black holes and revolutions

IMO, Plug In Baby, Time Is Running, Knights Of Cydonia, Super Massive Black hole, uprising and undisclosed desires will be guaranteed on the setlist

BTW, The resistance is pretty good album after one or two listens you do have to take it all in and try to ignore guiding light :P

I know, Matt is quoted somewhere that after writing Guiding Light he said something along the lines of " That's it my son, my work here is done"
I agree that's it's possibly the worst song they have ever recorded but obviously means a lot to the band.

If you will want to go and see them, listen/watch to Haarp (for an overall view of what and how they play live) and the new one eerh the resistance.

If you want to become a fan listen to Origin of Symmetry by far their best full album, and Hullabaloo one of the best collection of songs ever compiled together

I think that they will do more of there older stuff if they are at Glastonbury.  Recent dates have been to promote the new album a festival set is a totally different beast.

Either way I will be there with bells on if Muse play.

I think BLISS is one of their best live tracks but they hardly ever seem to play it these days. Hightlight of their '04 set imo. When that arpeggiator kicks in at the beginning .... then BAM! Love it

that would be a pretty good setlist methinks although I'd like to see Invincible in there somewhere too.

I'm pretty sure they played that at Liverpool.

For me, Black Holes is a bloody brilliant album.  The Resistance is pretty weird - a very eclectic mix of styles.  The first three are fairly straight forward heavy rock albums - good, but nothing ground-breaking.  It's inevitable that they are currently playing a lot of the new album because it's the new album tour (duh) but I would imagine the Glasto set will be an overview of their career.

Knights of Cydonia is going to be AWESOME!!!

I like the 1st 4 albums but The Resistance is a bit turd bar Unnatural Selection and Mk Ultra. To be fair Uprising live is pretty good aswell with the we are the universe intro, i saw them at Liverpool earlier this month and although good the set was short and i left feeling a bit underwhelmed by them. if they hadn't just released the resistance i would be made up over this booking but know im doomed to disappointment in their set list.

Although largely the new album (as you'd expect) I'd say you'll get a good mix from all their albums, there are definitely two muses though, their earlier stuff which was pretty gritty and dark and their new stuff which is much more pop/rock. I like both and think that it's good that the band isn't tied to a single style all their career.

here's the set list form their O2 show on 12 November with albums noted:

Uprising (The Resistance)
Resistance (The Resistance)
New Born (Origin of Symmetry)
Map of the Problematique (Black Holes and Revelations)
Supermassive Black Hole (Black Holes and Revelations)
Guiding Light (The Resistance)
Interlude (Absolution)
Hysteria (Absolution)
Nishe (not on an album - but Showbiz era song)
United States of Eurasia (The Resistance)
Feeling Good (Origin of Symmetry)
Unintended (Showbiz)
Helsinki Jam (not on an album - new track for live show)
Undisclosed Desires (The Resistance)
Starlight (Black Holes and Revelations)
Plug In Baby (Origin of Symmetry)
Time Is Running Out (Absolution)
Unnatural Selection (The Resistance)

Exogenesis: Symphony, Part 1: Overture (The Resistance)
Stockholm Syndrome (Absolution)
Knights of Cydonia (Black Holes and Revelations)

I'd say that's a pretty good selection form across their career.

Excellent stuff mate thanks very much!!!!  My playlist will be made tonight!!!

Try and get hold of / youtube their glastonbury 2004 set. That was them at their best if you ask me.

(and playing their best stuff too, the later stuff isnt as good, and theres some utter drivel on thier most recent album)

I've saw them a few times now and feel the 3 times I saw them during the Absolution period where the best Muse shows I've saw. T in the Park 2004 is still my all time favourite Muse gig.

They seem to have lost a bit of the magic.

Personally I would start from the beginning with Showbiz as I think each album from then has gone downhill, although the first 3 are all pretty good the last 2, Black Holes and Revelations and the new one, have been largely disappointing....and yet the most popular!

nahh...

Showbiz was good, Origin of Symmerty was their best by far.. it's utterly superb, Absolution is better than Showbiz but nowhere near as good as Origin, then the album go downhill in my view.

For a mixture between realistic and absolute perfect setlist - check out a few of these (in reverse album order)

Uprising
Resistance
Unnatural Selection
MK Ultra
Exogenesis Symphony
Take A Bow
Supermassive Black Hole
Map of the Problematique
Invincible
Assassin
City of Delusion
Knights of Cydonia
All of the Hysteria album, it's near damn perfect IMO
New Born
Bliss
Hyper Music
Plug In Baby
Micro Cuts
Feeling Good
Sunburn
Muscle Museum
Cave
Unintended

Know it's a long list, but if you pick out any few of those songs you won't be disappointed :P

Not sure about this; would generally agree but because they only headlined 5 years ago, they're gonna want to make sure it's a completely different show...

I was slightly dissapointed by the setlist they did on Ressistance Tour.
No Sunburn
No Muscle Museum
No Sing For Absolution
No Bliss!  :P

I want a greatest hits set at Glasto pretty please  :P

Just been pretty confirmed Muse will play next year, I only know of there Radio hits other then that I know pretty much nothing else of them. A few tracks I’ve heard (not the radio stuff) seemed a little gloomy if I’m honest but heard a little bit of there live stuff last night & it seemed more upbeat almost dancey.   What should I expect of there performance & should I get on the Muse band wagon and learn there stuff for next year?  If so where should I start as I cant be bothered to listen to every album!!!
if you just want to  LISTEN  to them to get a better idea of their sound, then the best thing to do in my opinion, is try SPOTIFY.  its great for listenin to music u may not want to buy or download. their library grows bigger every day. i'd  DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT.
