Saw them play Croker three nights in a row this summer and the Northside scum never played this once.
They need to start the show at Glasto with this. No question.

I vote their usual intro tape which no doubt will get the crowd on their side - Bowie's space oddity
Followed by a acoustic stripped down version of Desire, followed by a full blown version Elevation . That will do it

I was only thinking that exact thing last night...start with I will Follow, then they have a license to play one/two of their rockier newer ones (get on your boots, vertigo or something...). REM did exactly this at Rock Werchter last year, started almost every date on the tour with living well's the best revenge, at the festie appearance it was second...they started with Orange Crush and the place ignited.

I have been lucky enough (or unlucky enough depending on how you look at it) to see U2 on every tour of theirs from 1984 to this current tour. And every album since 'War' to 'No line on the Horizon' (I was too young for the very early gigs for 'Boy' & 'October'
)
From my re-collection of seeing them live more than 24 times, over 25 years, they have always played a huge chunk of their latest album and always included a good blend of previous hits.
I would love to see them perform a "Greatest Hits" type set but I wouldn't predict that'd be the case.
Likewise I wouldn't be too surprised if they play a chunk of latest album from this 360 tour, even at Glasto next year.
But even if they play 6 or 7 songs off 'No line on the Horizon' (like they've done when I saw them this summer), there is still plenty of scope for inclusion of classic hits from all their prev albums too
Worth keeping an eye on THIS WEBSITE, which keeps track of their set-lists for the 360dg Tour.
I had an avid eye on this, and printed off the set list of prev European tour just before their Wembley Stadium shows and the set-list was very accurate in what I saw for both Wembley concerts in August.
Might get a good insight in the run in to Glasto slot if that helps.

They will be given a 2 hour set. It will consist of...
45 minutes of "classics"
15 minutes of old songs
1 hour of Bono preaching...

eFestivals, on Nov 24 2009, 02:02 PM, said:their manager has said U2 "will play a mixture of material from their entire career", so it sounds as tho it'll be a greatest hits set and not a promo for their latest album.
This being the case I think it will be wicked!!!
