Because they get to see their favourite band for longer. For all they know Glastonbury's just another V fest...

even after seeing them once already they want to go and watch the same thing again as opposed to spending a few days with hundreds of bands, performers, a fantastic atmosphere, amazing people to meet

the chance to discover new bands alone is worth going to glastonbury

and trust me, its not "just another V fest"

dont knock it til you try it :P

*edit: seeing them twice already

Even if I wasn't massively in love with Glastonbury I'd say it's the logical choice.

1) It's a 5 day festival
2) It's legendary
3) He/she hasn't experienced it before
4) He/she is already seeing MUSE, so why see the same show twice and miss out on a new experience.

Plus travelling to France for a concert is a bit nuts surely?  5 days in Pilton has to be much better value for money.

BTW, I confidently predict you'll get a "go to Glasto" whitewash here and a "Go to Muse" whitewash there, but I bet there are more people on the Muse forum who vote Glasto than vice versa.

Wait a second....

Your seriously considering seeing a bunch of egostatical nobs playing an over choreographed set in france, over Glasto?

Jesus Christ! Is all I can say.

Can someone explain why?? :P
Glastonbury is Glastonbury - simple.
Muse will tour again and again and again.
I wouldn't miss Glastonbury and certainly not the 40th anniversary.
Each to their own...

If you're going to wembley why bother wasting that money going to france.

Im going to the wembley gig on the saturday, Muse are my favorite all time band, but I would not consider dropping glastonbury to see them another time in a country full of cheese eating sweaty smelly surrender monkeys.

Glasto it up, see muse 2 months after at wembley.

sod france.

who knows, Muse may yet still be sat/sun headliner

I wouldn't give up any festival to see one act. Taking in to account we're talking about Glastonbury then there should clearly  be no choice. I'd rather see no bands all weekend at a festival than go see one band no matter how much I loved them.

Okky - it's clear your friend is not a normal Muse fan. I love Muse and hope to see them at Glasto and Wembley but to see them on both Wembley days at £50 a time when money is clearly an issue for your friend is absolutely barking. If they're seriously entertaining the idea of going to France to see them a third time instead of Glasto then I get the impression they will derive far more pleasure from seeing their favourite band over and over and over again than going to a festival.
Even if they do go they will probably spend their whole time thinking about the Muse set and not getting into it.

You have to admit though that objectively there is no comparison.
Firstly they are seeing Muse twice already and Glasto has hundreds of great bands.
Secondly, the five days in Pilton will be fantastic even ignoring all things musical.
Finally the (probable) Muse set at Glastonbury will be far better than anything else they do as unlike every other night of the tour it will be absolutely unique and seeing bands on the Pyramid is incomparably better than stadiums and arenas.

If your friend has never been it's your job to convince them of this, if after all that they still go to France I would submit that they are beyond help.

Massive Muse Fan Here, and i think it would be ridiculous to sell your Glastonbury ticket just to see them at France, considering it will moreless probably be the same show as the Wembley Dates, , And the fact Muse are more than likely to be there at Glastonbury, playing a far more " Special " set than at the france date.

Your"Mate" should ask himself which gig would Muse prefer to do.....I can guarantee that they would take Glastonbury anyday.

I love Muse, but I'd definitely go to Glastonbury over it, especially if I was already seeing Muse twice. Anyway, I'm sure that if they do headline Glastonbury next year then it'll be far more important in their career than their set at Stade De France will be. Glastonbury 2004 was the show which really boosted Muse's popularity, if they play Glastonbury next year then it'll be a chance to properly prove why they're one of the biggest bands in the world right now.

Glasto all the way. Even if Muse don't play then you're getting far more value for money than you will be getting by paying a couple of hundred quid just to see Muse and a few support acts in Paris.

i think muse will be at glasto anyways, but this is a stupid poll to have on a glasto forum if we did it on muselive it would be the other way round ey. :P

I think the person should wait to see if Muse are at Glasto this year, might even know in a few days. Sit tight.
