Rammstein have hinted at a UK festival appearance and have confirmed they will be playing Austria's Nova Rock festival which takes place the same weekend as Download - doubt they can move their set to Donington over night.cool whats the sources for the rumours then, inside stuff?

I'd certainly be up for Iron Maiden day but not the Laibach tribute band.

Fantastic news, I've never seen either of them but both are supposed to be amazing live so it looks like I will be going to Glastonbury, Sonisphere and either Download or Leeds next year.

Pearl Jam are a possiblity aswell, I mean they are doing a EU tour in 2010 and festival dates are rumoured. In fact there was an online article on grungereport
http://grungereport....ummer-festival/
which says they have it on good authority that PJ are playing a festival in the London area, not sure if Sonisphere would be considered in the London area?

that could be hard-rock calling no?
if you've got maiden and rammstein you're not going to get pearl jam aswell!

Yeah I figured it could be Hard Rock Calling aswell, but who knows. Hard Rock Calling makes the most sense to an extent, but then Sonispheres sort of nearby and also a possibility.
And I meant instead of Rammstein, tbh just because Rammstein are doing 2 festivals over the Download weekend, that doesn't rule them out for download (and nor does that make them a serious rumour for sonisphere - its a 2 day fest, I don't see Rammstein getting booked as they will go for bigger bands that pack more punch (such as LP and Metallica like this year).
In fact it makes them just as likely as ever for Download, as they are nearby doing EU fests during download, and they could easily get from wherever to Download within time to play a headlining set.

Just to add a more or less confirmation (taken from the Polish Soni site)
"In the last year SONISPHERE FESTIVAL by 300,000 fans, on the 6 festivals in various parts of Europe: in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland and the United Kingdom. Boasting line-up' em teams made up of highest class scenes rock, for Metallicą followed the scene such teams as Slipknot, Lamb of God, anthrax, and Park, The Prodigy, The Hives and many other, which together have contributed to great success Sonisphere Festival.
In the next year SONISPHERE intends to develop wings and c eleven events and headlinerami get such stars as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Rammstein. With this extremely impressive line-up' em with a view to the 11 new concerts this breakthrough rock festival is sentenced to even greater success in 2010 and will strengthen its position as the world's leading rock festival."
did anyone know Rammstein is "Band" in Polish? you live and learn!
