Not a chance in hell of being big enough, The Other Stage maybe(big maybe).
So no, God has more sense

Some people would think they are but in my opinion they are no way near big enough to headline.
They're so overated it makes me want to vomit

where is this rating system of which you speak located exactly?
i always hear this term overated and wonder who it is rating them and why on earth some people seem intent on avoiding bands due to it.
me personally i listen to stuff and i either like or i dont regardless of what others my think of them, i don't understand any other way of deciding whether or not i like something be it music, movies, artists or whatever.

If it was gonna happen Pete wouldnt be able to keep is quiet. They could easily (and I mean easily) headline the Other Stage. Their two albums combined have sold around half a million in the UK alone. However, they'd easily be able to headline Reading but I think Glastonbury is a little too diverse for them to headline.
I love both of their albums and it would be nice to see them back but they run the risk of tarnishing what was great in the past with a potentially shit third album.

there's no way they'll do it - carl will have some solo stuff out. Why would he want to piss on a the best part of a year's work?

when they return they will be headlining Reading first. That's their festival if you will. They always played there in the past and have played there since with their other projects a lot. Seems right that they headline main at Reading... I'll be at the front barrier to see it

Next year is a no, as Efests said Carlos has been working on his solo stuff and Peter's just starting the 'shambles 3rd album, and despite me being one of there biggest fans, (like anoraky so) they're not big enough for the Pyramid headline slot

I think if they do ever return, (and like you i'll be at the front) I think they would play Glasto, both Peter and Carl have cited Glastonbury as their favourite festival to both be at and play, so I would expect them to appear the year they do!

Its called a subjective point of view. On my scale they're overated. I like the Libertines, think they're a good band. IN MY OPINION(!!) They're not the saviours of the UK indie scene that people made out to be.

again i just like what i like regardless of others views and opinons.
so the whole saviours of the uk indie scene wouldn't even come into any view i had on them.
the whole "so&so are overated" thing is pet peeve of mine and usually a teenage thing i tend to find.

i think they may do it as a low key one off thing at a festival and i think they have both said that if they were to do a festival it would be glastonbury so as to make certain they are not accused of doing it for the money.
so i think if it were to happen it would be a unannounced set somewhere low key at glastonbury.
a one off get together is hardly going to interfeer with any solo efforts taking place from any of the 4 members.

It's just not going to happen next year. Doherty is desperate for it whereas Barat will be more than happy doin his solo stuff. 2011 will be more likely if ever, as has been said I think they'd do R&L first as they'd get offered more cash.

Whodathunkit?
People with varied tastes?? It's a puzzler.
I say i dislike a band, and explain i like one other band. 2 bands. Out of the probably millions that have existed in the past. 2 bands you have my opinions on, yet you laugh at my taste.
Im sure you do well by it...

Yeh thinking about it, it's more likely that they will do a secret one on the park stage or something. I would personally love them to headline!!!

I actually disagree, i think its more of an adult thing. Something that comes with age is the ability to form your own opinions, opinions that believe that someone or something is not as good as the current trends or fads dictate they are.

fair enough, if you need others views and a knowledge of current trends and fads to help you form an opinion so be it, i personally do not i genuinely pay little attention to trends or fads etc myself and despite this can still manage to form opinions all by myself just fine.
but to each their own.
