Last fallow year I went to Coachella, Oxegen, Benicassim, V and the electric picnic...and still missed glasto! I reckon just EP next time around though, but I've no idea where I'll be in 2012 so who knows what options will present themselves...

I really want to go to Fuji Rock. But will probably end up going to Latitude or somewhere like that.

Sonar sounds interesting for early festival season start for 2012, what is it like, or have you not been before?

After that The Big Chill, (not been before)

Sonar is good, it's like two different festivals, the day time events in the City centre, and the night time events in massive aircraft hangers a few miles out from the centre.
As it is a city based festival, there's lots going on around the city, including partying on the beach, and the anti-Sonar festival, where travellers set up soundsystems blasting out techno, think it goes on for 3 days non-stop, I normally visit it for a few hours immediately after Sonar's Saturday night partying finishes, until it gets too hot.

As for The Big Chill, that has to be my fave festival apart from Glastonbury. It's a great vibe, friendly people and good music in a beautiful location.

The Olympics - just for something different

Good shout. Although, at that point, if my next years year out of teaching english in the far east drags on a bit (which i really do hope it does) i may not be around.

As the Big Chill is now owned by Festival Republic, it might turn out to be a different beast from now on.

It might, but the previous owners are retaining creative control, so hopefully Festival Republic will just provide a little more financial clout and allow the ethos to remain the same.

But it can't remain the same.

It will need to not be making the losses that it has supposedly done in the last two years, and on top of that it will be needing to make a profit.

Changes in the financing of the event will mean changes to the event itself.

As I won't be going to Venice Carnevale in 2012 either, I might go to Brazil Carnival in the February, then wouldn't have enough money to do any festivals.

Might go back to Reading festival. I live there... but this year...

Anyway, Latitude, Bestival or Sziget are my most likely ones.
