Sorry Red Day, I meant April when bands announced last year.
And you are correct again in saying they were never off sale last year.
I find it a bit strange that they could be selling them now with some willing buyers, but no word yet.
Should we be concerned for 2010?? :P

I don't think there is any real concern. By all accounts last year was most successful. Can't wait to next year.

I'm kinda getting where you're coming from - with Friday night usually headlined by a contemporary band like MGMT and an older one for Saturday - but I'm not sure they have enough in the locker to keep everyone interested for a headline set?
I never thought I'd say this but I think Paulo Nutini would work on Friday night - as I risk being shot down in flames......   :P

He's not my cuppa T but would be okay as second on the bill.  As DJ says, he does fit the bella ethos

Great Shout

My flatmate would go if Paulo played because 'he's lovely'.

I think I would have to go to see whoever wasn't assualting my ears. He always sounds drunk to me when i hear him sing live. Is he or does he just sound like your least favourite jakey uncle?

I have many jakey uncles (and a few aunties)

You and I are never going to agree Red Day, Paolo would be fab for Bella!

Also, I hear Prefab Sprout are back on the go, I would quite like to see them maybe in a tent, Paddy McAloon looks more like he should be a member of ZZ Top these days!

How about Paulo headlining Garden Stage on Friday - keeps the family atmosphere going outside, whilst Levellers could headline the Hothouse tent on same night? Then Manics headline Garden Stage on Saturday night and maybe Vampire Weekend in Hothouse?

Everyone happy??!! :P

That could work. Hopefully they would put on something a bit different in the black isle.

In terms of headliners and other acts, it seems to be down to how much funding the festival gets. Last year i think they got an additional grant or something, hence editors et al playing, the year before last when there was no additonal grant the headliners were scouting for girls and the waterboys, in saying that it was one of the best festivals i attended. It will be intresting to see what they come up with but i think acts like the manics, arcade fire(my tongue in cheek suggestion) are probably out of reach. Anyway i will be there regardless of headliners :P

good point steivig 72.

However, the festival sold out for the first time last year. So I would imagine that while there would be no big headliners like last year, there will be better headliners than Scouting for girls and the waterboys. (no offence to those that like them) If only because in business terms it makes sense to develop your product from a position of strength.

Likewise I'm not bothered about headliners so much, although I tend to think that the headliners in the tents should grab my attention at least.

Ok my opinion on headlines is
Fri-VAMPIRE WEEKEND
Sat-MANIC STREET PREACHERS.

Super Furry Animals, The Boy Least Likely To and Los Campisinos! Would also suit Bella and B rly gr8!

That would be fantastic, but can't see it happening.  Those two along with the Levellers playing, and not clashing would be perfect.

They don't appear to be which is a shame. Had a quick look around last night, looks like Ticketmaster is the only place they are onsale at the moment. Nothing on the Bella site about other outlets, which is a shame coz TM fees seem stupidly high.
