I'd like to say atauly i think greenday would go down really well.
I went and saw greenday at the wembly arena gig last week (which apparently Michael Eavis himself also attended?) and was very suprised, don't get me wrong i thought they would be good, but they put on a real show. (they also only played 5songs from 21st centuary breakdown, which pleased me a lot!)
sadly i was sitting, but the crowed wasn't very 'rough', evryone was simple jumping around and singing along, something i'm sure us glastonbury goers can appreciate.
i agree they are quite mainstream nowadays, however glastonbury has had loads of mainstream pop acts before.
i also think songs like Time of yourlife, basket case, american idiot, minority etc are great crowd singalongs.
personally i'd prefer it if they just played randomly in the afternoon than headline . i could see them doing it tbh, but ethir way they could fit glastonbury easily.
