Guns N' Roses have announced a tour of Canada early next year.

The tour which will open in Winnipeg, New Brunswick on January 13, will take in various venues across the country before closing in Halifax, Nova Scotia on February 4.

Guns N' Roses who have recently 'vigorously contested' claims they've copied songs which ended up on their latest album, will play the following dates:

Winnipeg, MB, MTS Centre (January 13)
Calgary, AB, Pengrowth Saddle Dome (16)
Edmonton, AB, Rexall Place (17)
Saskatoon, SK, Credit Union Centre (19)
Regina, SK, Brandt Centre (20)
Hamilton, ON, Copps Coliseum (24)
London, ON, John Labatt Centre (25)
Montreal, PQ, Bell Centre (27)
Toronto, ON, Air Canada Centre (28)
Ottawa, ON, Scotiabank Place (31)
Quebec City, PQ, Colisee Pepsi (February 1)
Moncton, NB, Moncton Coliseum (3)
Halifax, NS, Metro Centre (4)

Heck, even if GnR are announced for Reading and Leeds, I'd still only consider the chances of them actually playing as "a possibility".

When I saw the dates on Monday I was quite excited by the London one 'til I realised where that was.

I can't see them booking them for Reading/Leeds. When they played Leeds in 02 they hadn't played in this country for about 10 years and even casual observers would be intrigued by what the new line up and material would be like.

Now the album has been released and alot of people have seen them play the excitement and interest over the band is quite low.

I'd still have them over Green Day anytime.

no thanks. i'm not even arsed it's axl  & friends, more a case that they are a liability, and liabilities shouldn't be considered when the festival is going to cost two ton next year. Have seen a lot of the 80's metal "legends", only metallica and faith no more proved that they weren't past it and still had something to offer the music world.

I read that Slash also asked Grohl to drum on the tour - knowing how much Grohl loves drumming I suspect he'll agree. although I can't find a link to anything to back this up - maybe I dreamt it?

The band will then embark on a South American tour between March 10 and April 10, 2010 (exact dates to be determined).

Looks like a world tour is on the cards
