I know I've mentioned Latitude before, but rather, than stick 10p on each cup - which people aren't so bothered about - the 2 quid on a hard plastic reusable cup seems to be the way forward.  You get a freshly washed cup with each pint and when you hand in the cup at the end, you get your £2 back.

The Workers Beer Company which supply bars and staff to glastonbury and other events are behind the scheme for festivals such as Lat - can it not work at Glastonbury?

Wasn't there a discussion about this  idea before and it was something about the amount of cups needed and location of the wash site for it was  in Germany or something, maybe if glasto could organise to get the equipment for washing the cups on site then it could..

Oxygen in Ireland use the system and there are 80000 peeps there.  It doesn't appear to be completely out of the remit to do it for G.  If 100,000 punters at Glasters drink 20 drinks over the festival, thats a very very conservative 2 million paper cups - most of them chucked on the floor in JazzWorld!  If they can produce a 2 million paper cups, surely producing 200000 reusable plastic ones isn't so difficult?

Oh i agree completly, it does seem bit of waste using all these paper cups when theres a system that could stop it,  I am just going by what was said in another thread, it dosn't seem difficult but I am sure there was something about them only being able to be washed in certain locations and such. You would surely need alot more then 200,000 at least 3/4 per punter?

If they had a refund scheme with the cups, all the bars would need to have an extra 'section' where the cups can be returned and refunded, then they would need to store all of the returned cups before they can be sent for recycling. So i'm guessing it's lack of space

They do it at Rock am Ring. When you buy a beer its 3 euro if you have your own cup and 3.50 without. Works very well, theyre like gold dust by the last day! Peeps walking around with stacks of them.

Oxegen by the way, a total mess. If you saw the mess that kip is left in you would be disgusted. Actually, if you saw that place full stop you'd be disgusted. A vile shithole full of filth, including the people.

Tesco *spits* are selling a tent for £1.75. This is such an outrage on so many levels. You just know that someone somewhere is being exploited to make it possible to sell this item at this price, and what possible incentive is there for someone of a lazy, somewhat wasted disposition to take these home if it costs less than a sandwich.

Might also increase those who might pick up to use as a waste tent, including human matter...

Think all we left behind last year was two binbags of rubbish,no were easy  to dump it though,so we left it were the tents had been. Taking a lot less next year, smaller tent,no booze,no food,so by rights i should leave very little. Don't think you will ever educate people to stop leaving rubbish......

Do you seriously have no problem with the labour conditions prevalent in the factory where this tent was made, exploitation in the third world and the power wielded by the likes of Tesco to dictate prices and discount this low? Are you happy that some lazy moron can buy a tent for £1.75 virtually ensuring that there is no incentive whatsoever to re-use it. Are you happy with the throw away society we live in today and the implications of that on your children and future generations? If you are then you are the one with problems.

Yes, I seriously have a problem with that tent.
