Pyramid Stage sound at the front

Was it just me or was it overwhelmingly rumbling/bassy? Couldn't really make much out when I was down the front. You'd think for the world's most popular festival it'd be sorted.

I didn't go down the front much this year bcause the Pyramid music was generaly crap.. But the few times I did I found it easy to hear. No problems..
Just as long as the whole field can hear, rather than having to resort to chants of "TURN IT UP" then I'm happy

I didn't say it wasn't loud enough.

Only problem can be when it's windy and the sound seems to blow away for a few seconds.

I know you didn't. I said I could hear it well down the front and then referred to another infamous sound problem from 2007 (Kasabian and The Killers).
I didn't find it too rumbly.

I wasn't near the front of the Pyramid at any point this year, so I can't comment on that. The sound near the barrier during Franz Ferdinand, however, was probably the best I've ever heard at a gig. Perfectamundo.

Sometimes if it's too loud for you, you hear it as rumbly/bassy.
I've come to realise that at normal gig volumes, I lose the ability to discern lyrics or pitch. I dunno whether it's a recognised condition. Anyway, I wear musician-grade earplugs, they make me look like a bit of a fogey, but they work a treat.
I don't know if it's a form of deafness. I do know that at 36 years old, I can still clearly hear those mosquito ringtones that kids use on the assumption that adults can't hear them.

the front for dizzee rascal was just stupid.. even with earplugs you could feel your ears bleeding.

The bands on the pyramid stage wern't crap..
I didn't really notice any problems with sound either when I was at the front for Neil Young, Specials, Fleet Foxes, Nick Cave, and Blur, however when Blur played Song 2, the distorted parts of the song seems quieter than the parts played clean.

Dizzee Rascal should just get a band. It's rubbish seeing him with what seems like a wedding DJ.

I thought the sound was very bassy during Bruce, it got really annoying after a while lol

Mosquito Ringtones? Since when?
Rubbish. I've never heard a single one.

Was in the middle of the pit for Neil, Tap and Bruce. Sound was mega from Shakey, good for Tap and average for Brucie.
Was on the hill in front of the centre stack for Blur and sound was awe inspiring.

When I was near the front for The Specials, Spinal Tap, Madness and Blur I thought it was alright. Better than the Main Stage sound at Leeds anyway.
