what a tune that is.
prodigy and pendulum have played and are both way heavier. and you had enter shikari (who are shit by the way) playing who are loads heavier and are renowned for having mental crowds at their gigs so no problem with a pearl jam or even a metallica headlining.

Yeah Prodigy and Pendulum are heavier but I think it was more to do with the 9 people dying during Pearl Jams set at Roskilde that put him off heavier acts.  I also think Prodigy etc tend to be seen as Dance acts.

I for one would like 'heavier' music played, not a lot just a couple of bands here and there on the main two stages but it doesn't look like its going to change soon.  Can always go to other festivals if I want more of a mix.

i know about what happened at roskilde but that was down to a number of factors and not to do with the band. i was making the point that heavier acts have played glastonbury with no fatalities so maybe bands like pearl jam should be given a go.
i'm not really sure what prodigy being classed as dance has to do with it either. if they're heavier they're heavier whether they're dance rock punk or whatever. the crowd still goes off on one

To me it makes no real difference.  I think bands like that should play, I agree with what you are saying, and plenty played before the incident (NIN for example) and it was fine.  I was just stating this is the reason given by the festival generally and the concerns they have not my opinion.

The dance thing I mentioned because its a mental thing, its ok they are dance acts rather than they are heavy metal acts, different crowd.  I'm not saying its right or anything just a possible thought process.

Personally I think pendulum and prodigy are both shit I'd much rather have Pearl Jam :D :D.

but it wasn't Pearl Jam specifically (obviously, I s'pose  :D ) who caused the accident. I thought half the pa system wasn't working, so people pushed to the front just to be able to hear them. It was muddy too... it could have been any headliner really
