Not necessarily as headliners, but worth a shout for next year?
Thoughts?

Honestly, if they played, I think they'd have to headline. They sold out the O2 in twenty minutes earlier this year, they've headlined Reading and - although they might fly below the radar a bit in terms of hype - they definitely have an enormous (and highly dedicated) fanbase.
I'd love to see them there.

Really want them to play

It would be amazing but I don't think it will happen, Neil said Eavis doesn't want to risk any potential deaths/injuries etc after Roskilde.
Real shame because they're such a brilliant band and would absolutely own the Pyramid or Other Stage but such is life!

I know they would be big enough to headline, but they are certainly 'under the radar' as far as Glasto is concerned. Are they what Mr Eavis would class as a 'traditional' headline act?
Would love to see them, one of my mates saw them at Leeds 3 or 4 years ago and said they were amazing. With a new album out not too long ago, I suppose they are more likely to play Download or Reading/Leeds again.

I reckon them playing is about as likely as 99% of people on this board learning to use the search function.

I'd love to see them at Glasto and would be really happy if they were announced as headliners

seen them in manchester two months ago and it was almost 'spiritual' at times .... think i've seen every major band of the last twenty years and they are right up there... quoted as saying they won't be back to europe for a long time tho so a longshot.... top top band

YES!
This would make my festival complete. Eavis put a lot of security measures in place because of what happened during their set at Roskilde (for those not in the know, some fans got crushed to death). Glastonbury is now a very safe environment, and certainly safe enough for Pearl Jam to play. Way heavier acts play the likes of Reading and Download etc and there are rarely any incidents, none that come to mind. I say it's about time to reconsider letting the likes of Pearl Jam play, they are very much in the vein of what Glastonbury represents to a lot of people.

Maybe they might play in the future if Emily takes control of the festival, she might have a different attitude towards heavier music (Eavis I guess feels personally responsible if anything happens)

I don't see the link either but from what I've read on here Eavis thinks differently, which is a shame.
