Don't know why, but in a bored, dreamlike trance state at work I sudenly thought that I would love to see Portishead but never have. Heard a rumour that they are working on some new material currently.
Do we think it's a possibility they'll be there people?

Very unlikely. They couldn't be talked into it when they were touring in 2008.

Portishead would be awesome, on a side note Massive Attack have a new album out in Feb called Heligoland, and are planning a few dates....
ideally both would play at Glasto!

Woooah what is this they have announced the album name
and they sacked off the double album for a single with only 10 tracks, I'm disappointed especially as what 2/3 of them are already on the EP.
I have to say I was disappointed by them when I saw them in Manchester the other month, but what can you expect Manchester crowds always seem to be poor in spirit.
If they hadn't played 2 years ago (which incidentally was absolutlely fantastic, definitely a life highlight) I'd say they were a dead cert but won't happen.
I think my head would literally explode if both played
"Sunday Night Jazz/World Stage, from about 8 onwards both bands combine to play an epic set"

And which end of the east lancs road might you be from
I saw them at the Castlefields freebie gig last year. Pretty much the same show as Glasto. Both brilliant. And the Manchester crowd lapped it up, despite the rain.

Didn't they have family troubles or something similar in 2008? I thought they were originally booked.
Would be good to see them on a stage where they can have some proper trouser flapping bass!

lol I have nothing against mancunians, I've not been into Football or cared long enough to amerce myself into the rivalry. It's just from experience they've largely been a tad dull (Most of my MEN gigs, I guess that can be equally blamed on arenas in general, though it's not been all of them) or very loutish (Foo Fighters at Old Trafford was awful for it). I know it's unfair to tar everyone with the same brush but it's just personal experience.
Yeah I had about a billion tickets for that (I went from worrying whether I'd get tickets, to being sent like 3 envelopes full of them). Couldn't attend in the end I quite gutted about that really. I imagine it was a good gig, they seem to translate better outdoors.

Have people heard their new song?
http://www.amnesty.o...ategoryID=11755
I find it ghastly, whilst third may have been awkward to get into, it always had depth. Chase the tear just sounds like some cheap 80's throwback. Bitterly disappointed especially as it's going to a good cause
