There are always bands playing until late at night, last year there weren't real big headliners anyways, so they did not have any late night special guests. It depends on how big and special the band playing the last alterna stage spots will be, therefore.

In 08 it was The Prodigy playing into the early hours on the alternate stage, problem was it pissed down with rain so I headed off to my tent, at least it was dry last year when the played the main stage - brilliant performance - even made this old man jump up and down.

Yeah that was wiked! and just to think i was gona bugger off to my tent during Motorhead cos the rain was pissin me off! whys everyone calling these bands 'special late nite band'....wernt they just headliners on the 2nd stage no? Cos The Verve played about the same time in 2008 also

in 2007 evanescence where billed as a 'late night special', can't remember the night, but 08 and 09 they didn't announce late night bands as such bands just played late anyway

Late night specials are often a 4th headliner, Guns & Roses playing on the main stage at like 3am springs to mind, mainly because it was a little crap!

Pretty much, no schlepping your tent and stuff
Its really popular with the home crowd, who go in groups up to 50 and take all their home comforts with them - TV, sofa, fridge, bar, and sound systems that have their own marquees. Its a great experience!

Maybe I have got my German wrong here, but I read the first lot as likely to play and second list as would be unlikely to play.....
But my German isn't great.....well actually its pretty poor!
There is a lot of guff on ringrocker mind

Slayer confirmed.
Announcement tomorrow or next friday. More likely tomorrow due to Slayer self-confirmation.
Concerning your language problems:
The first list contains bands that will be confirmed for sure according to one user (just guessing, no inside information). The 2nd list contains bands that are not very likely to play RaR but have played the festival several times before so may play 2010 as well. It's all rumours!

Perhaps RaR is pulling out names today, because the next week will be overshadowed by the announcements of Download Festival. And that's likely to happen, bearing in mind that they have AC/DC, Soundgarden, Them Crooked Vultures etc. up theirs sleeves.

Not sure anybody is worried about bands this year - 70,000 tickets sold already only 15,000 left get them while you can.

Has anyone noticed AC/DC have a gap between there show in denmark (5th June) and download that quite fits playing rock am. Maybe im just being overly hopeful but doesnt seem totall unlikely to me.
