My bags pretty much ready (I had to get it packed so I can take it down to the post office where my dad works so he can weigh it!) As i didn't want to get raped by easyjet.
Still have a few kg to spare as well.

Anyone any idea why the used pulled out? They were there for a couple weeks then dissapeared off the line up again. Kinda dissapointing was looking forward to seeing them.

the used web site says something about a split from their management - maybe the divorce involved the management company gettting the bands kit and airplane tickets, as you say very dissapointing.

As its a british pass-time to talk about the weather thought i'd drop in a couple of forecasts for you to mull over, looks like we won't be singing in the rain - which is nice...

Can't believe that it's almost time! Will be leaving canterbury in about 18 hours from now and I still need to get food, buy a high-vis jacket, find passport, pack bags...well i suppose that's why i've got tomorrow off work really.
Awesome news about the weather. Must remember to pack the sun cream!

Doubtful that Wolfmother will be playing now, they've cancelled Download due to "band member illness" - and have been replaced there by Killswitch Engage.
Here's to hoping Killswitch replace them at RaR too...
Getting everything ready to leave in 23 hours. So much stuff to fit in such a little car...

I should probably be in bed, but instead i find myself still awake, still packing, with a beer in my hand, trying to sort out music for the road trip, debating whether i should get some kip, but then i realised that im due to be picked up in an hour's time, so rock the f**k on, see you at the ring!

The whole weekend was a blast for me from Kiss through to Them Crooked Vultures and everything I went to see in between, fourth year for me and so far the best, even the massive thunder storm didn't spoil it, just all part of the fun and besides it wouldn't be RaR without a little bit of rain.

Just recovering now! What a festival, no broken bones this year from me, so added win! Met loads of English people, and I belive a boardie, not quite sure on the username though, sorry Twig!
The only problem I had with the whole festival was how expensive the beer was in the arena! English festivals would never get away with charging £3 for half a pint!
I had my wallet stolen in Zebrahead just after I handed someone their wallet back I found (It had about 2,000 euros and vip passes, I found it at the toilets near the subway, but I was not going to steal from a fellow rocker!)
I was on the screen a few times for Gorgol bordello with my crippled mate, other than that and Zebrahead I played it safe towards the back!
Managed to spend in excess of 450 euros (including the 80euros that went with my wallet! and I am not quite sure how I did it!)
I got loads of pictures to post at some point.. If I cba! The best bet of the whole festival was dragging myself and my not so out of shape friend to the top of the castle! we also grabbed a few of the english guys we met, felt like quite an achievement for me!

I would be that other fellow boardie, jiggerjay! Random, out of 85,000 people we should camp about 15 metres away from each other.
A truly epic weekend. Broken rib and broken finger sustained on first night after a very drunken hop, skip and jump between our tents ended in fail. never mind, alochol proved to be a very helpful anaesthetic for the rest of the weekend.
I remember being unimpressed by kiss, but then i was hammered by that point.
Friday, i thought halestorm put on a great show for that random festival band you've never heard of. awesome drumming. i thought jay-z was very entertaining, and i remember more of rage this time thatn the last time i saw them at the ring, which has to be a good thing.
Saturday, dizzee was a good laugh, dommin were that random festival band who turned out to be so absolutely shockingly bad it was funny, zebrahead were disappointing, muse were truly epic
Sunday, the rain oh my god the rain. It actually resulted in a small trip to the medical centre for the crappest festival injury ever - hair gel and sun cream in eye, eye causing much discomfort, hot nurse comes out with latex glove, then says "i've put zum eye drops in zis glove zo you don't lose them" i was disappointed. still, pendulum were brilliant, cypress hill were boring, bad religion were much better, rise against were better than i expected, so bonus, rammstein were looking fantastic, but by this point i was close to death and in quite a lot of pain. i did however manage to hear TCV from the campsite, so win.
all in all, an epic weekend, and good to meet some fellow boardies!
