I was the only one to get a ticket out of my group. Although I'll probably be giving it back If no one else manages to get one. I went alone in 2005 ( been Glasto 4 or 5 times) and it was great fun, you meet so many people it doesn't really matter.

I'm 24 from London btw.

I'd hate to be at somewhere like V on your own, but Glasto's fine solo.

I'd hate to be at V, mates or no mates.  I went once and it was the lamest festival experience ever.
Flying solo at festivals is cool, I was a solo raver this year and had a ball, couple of mates coming along this year but will probably be all off doing our own thing anyway!

I did my first Glasto solo and in many ways it was my best. You can do what you like whenever without wasting time in a group discussion about what you want to do next. And if you need someone to talk to there are a few other people around ready for a chat. I have been in a group every year since but we always split in the morning and may meet up at places and times of common interest. But never worry if someone no-shows as they have probably got distracted by something along the way.

Make sure you get a few practice runs at home first. It's easy as 123!

i've been to a few festies, never glasto... and there are always people willing to help with tent erection ... make friends with your neighbours and offer them a beer and you'll have all the willing helpers you need for most situations! :D

i will also recommend a dry run with the whole tent, packing thing before going however, to make sure that your tent has no gaping holes in it and that you can actually carry your pack without falling over backwards :(

Haha, there's really not much to it. The hardest part i've found is folding it up and rolling it right so it fits back in the bag!

I guess its my turn to stand up from the chair and be counted.

Im Kev From Cheshire and also a SR as well as a Glasto Virgin in fact Im more of a Festival Virgin. I've become addicted to the Glastonbury experience and to stop me from twitching I had to grab a golden ticket.

I may be flying solo but with so many people going I wont be alone.  "Bring it on" and let the fun begin.

I and my now ex partner  ;) have been to lots of festivals normally meeting up and camping with friends but this year I'm going solo for the first time  and I am actually really looking forward to it.  Do and see what you want, when you want!  I know quite a few people who are going so I can meet up with them as and when but can just as quickly do the "see you later" and go and do something else!!

don't worry about being on your own if its your first time, its the friendliest/greatest place on the plant for them five days. . ..  . .

Travling on your own will suck, a long old drive that last year, but f**k it has to be done.

This weekend i well not be SR-ing, hahaha

:)

I went on my own for the first time this year and had the best time ever!! I saw so much more of the festival and didn't have to worry about anybody else. It's good not getting too wasted too as loved getting up really early and wandering about the site when everyone else is asleep (got some great pictures of the pyramid area covered in a sea of litter!!

Will be going on my own again next and I cannot wait.

My name is Lynne, I am 37 and I'm a Solo Raver from the Lake District  :)

Time for a posting.
I have sat and watched TV every bloody year and said "I'd love to go to Glastonbury", and never done it.... until now.

What a time to pick! I did it on a whim and got a ticket.

So, I know a few folk who are going, but no-one from around here, so I'm gonna be a solo raver too. I was nervous about this until reading all the great threads on here. Can't wait!!!!

Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I'm Alex, soon 20 and a Glastonbury and Festival virgin. I'm from Germany but studying in the UK and haven't had the opportunity to meet people who are going to Glastonbuty, too, so at the moment it looks like I'm going on my own.
I still can't wait, though, and am getting really excited by the thought of it
