Hi I’ve been going to Glasto for quite a long time now but have always drove from Newcastle, next year where thinking of poshing it and flying down.  Two main points:

1. How do we get from the airport to the Festival?
2. Where can I buy lots of crates of Larger from to last 5 days?

Hope you can help!!!!!!  <_<

you can get a taxi from the aiport to glasto, he will stop off at a supermarket en route.  probably cost you about £60 or you can get the bus into bristol pick up supplies there then get the bus to the festival.

As just mentioned, you can get a taxi but it will be expensive. Cheaper option is the airport shuttle bus which runs regularly into the centre of Bristol where you can then get a bus to the festival site.

...also if you have 4-5 people, it can be just as handy to hire a car at the airport...we got a ford focus this year for £150 for the duration of the festival (so a mere £30 each)....we then just stopped off at our lesiure and picked up some drink, and also avoided the massive tailback on the motorway (which would have been great fun in a cab!)...also much easier to get back to bristol airport after the festival. Only drawback is someone has to drive.

Remember Bristol Airport is south of Bristol. Some 8.4 miles according to Google, you then have to get back from Bristol to the festival another 22 miles.

The buses from Bristol were stuck in the same traffic on the A37 as everyone else, (approx 5hours) therefore although it may be cheaper to go via Bristol it will be a lot faster going direct from the airport. You could always ask the taxi to stop at a shop in Wells and pick up your booze there.

I wouldn't want to go from the airport back to the centre of Bristol and then out again. Talk about a detour! Also always avoid the A37. Go via Chew Valley then down onto the A39 - that avoids the bulk of the traffic until you hit the A361 to Pilton at Glastonbury

If you're short of people to keep cab costs down here, put a notice up on here nearer the festival with your flight times and chances are there will be someone to share. I got chatting to a couple of people on my flight last year and shared a cab with them.

As for getting out again, I booked myself an afternoon flight on the Monday and got the first National Express shuttle to Bristol with plenty of time to get to the airport. I was sat in a pub in Bristol reading the paper at 11.30am  :)
