If there wasn't enough money in my account, would the order have been rejected immediately?

Historically, no immediately. Once year, the actual money transactions did not start to appear for several days. If it failed though, I seem to remember they gave you an oppertunity to use another account. As the page says, even paying full up front, you have 'booked' Glasto 2010 tickets, so is always subject to a successful transaction of moneys.

Apparently we've got an overdraft allowance of £2700 and we're at £2200 right now, so it should be okay?

Still in that queue?
If not how long did it take you to get out of it.

I started from the original Glasto ticket homepage again and it was fine.

More importantly would be if this was clarified. I'm still a bit worried.

Only verified at the point when See system goes to collect the money (which could be a few days yet). The allowance above is fine though, unless you are buying over 14 tickets that is . . .

Just two deposits luckily.

Thanks for clearing it up though. :(
