Just Download.  If I were doing two Festivals I'd probably do DL and Glasto, if I were doing three I'd do Bloodstock too.

Doubt I'll do V again, I very much doubt there will be a repeat of the 06 and 08 lineups in regards to quality.  As it is me posting, I shall post a few amusing images to sum up V:

The thing with V is people bash it, but it is a very easy festival with a fair bit of variety in acts (hence why people say its for people who don't like festivals, which is b*lls**t really, if you don't like festivals V can be too much - its radio friendly), I mean Glasto is the greatest festival ever, but you can never take in everything, you can get lost in all the little events and miss things you wanted to see and getting back to the car for something is a pain. Also the nature of Glasto means it sells out very quickly. Leeds less so than Reading still has its 'riots' which are normally the pumped up teenagers on their first adventure away from home and it can get tedious - especially when you have to help your tent neighbour rebuild her tent the next morning because the drunks flattened it.
Download is awesome if you like hard rock / metal (which I do) but its all it really caters for so unless all your mates are into it then that rules them out and Donington is bad enough to get out of on race day with a motorbike let alone in a car with 110,000 people bleary eyed from some thrash the night before.

So V fills a pretty good role, its central and it plays enough stuff to keep most people happy, it isn't fantastic but it doesn't say it is, yep its expensive but you can bring most of the expensive stuff with you (or smuggle it in) - and its the only festival I can guarantee getting at least a dozen of my mates to go to with their varied musical tastes.

Ta it just sums up how I feel, half of those who say V is way too commercial probably have a Calvin Klein shirt or some such brand on listening to the CD Jo Whiley said would be big this year (which could be anything as she likes everything) that they bought from HMV or Tesco... if they didn't download it off iTunes! Way to stick it to the man!
