If you can call it a festival , at all. Get yourself to Leeds is much better.

Only £3.50 for a bacon butty.

10 mins in and out the car park.

Just better in every way.

Last time I went to Leeds it was a 2 hour wait to get into the car park and a further 30 mins for wristbands!

Iv been going to V since 2004 and it has gone down hill pretty rapidly the last 2 years or so. Went Glastonbury this year and fell in love with the place.

BUT....

Is V the worst festival around?

NO - id give that award to Reading. Full of student w*nkers (sorry to categorise a whole festival - im sure there was some nice people there - i just didnt meet them!) who have got away from mummy and daddy for a weekend and are gonna burn and blow shit up.

Thats why i loved Glasto so much... its ALL about the music! : ) x x x

See u at V next year thou... ; ) x x x

They pay the council to shut the road in (A64) now , i had no wait what so ever.

I got there at 4pm on the thursday.

Ive only been to V and Leeds, IMO i would say leeds is better at everything other than been about £20 more expensive. Mind you do get a extra day.

Just would like people who all ways go to V, to try leeds u will never go back.

Maybe once to see how poor it is.

Agreed, Leeds is so much better. I've never had to wait to park or get wristbands and the walk from the car park to camping is pretty non-existant. Much better atmosphere as well (I've never encountered any of the troubles that seem to be associated with Reading). Plus the lineup is more to my taste anyway.

I beg to differ!

I dont think people in general who go to v think its the best festival in the world but they just go and have a great time.

now at leeds if you mean kids causing alot of trouble, yeah its the better festival. there both the same really not much to do after hours unless you count the relentless bloody tent.

would I find people who go to v are no as pretentious as the reading/leeds festival crowd.

what your telling me is leeds is a better festival becuase it has a better traffic system, whey hey you have sold it big time. dont go to glasto then, you would ind it the worst festival in te world because of the traffic.

i went to v 08, it was my first festival and had missed glasto tickets and didnt like leeds line up, i absolutely loved v!

but.....

this year i went to glasto, oh my god!! it was amazing!!! v was awful in comparison, glad i didnt go to glasto first. i dont think i'll ever go to another fest, unless its an extra one to glasto. i'd be so bored. i wouldnt say v is the worst festival, just nothing in comparison to others

at v, the only major choice you get is whether to go to strongbow or bacardi tent, like a little village with 2 pubs, at glastonbury, theres not much chance of remembering the names of the bars unless youve been a lot, its like going to london for a night out!!

my advice is, if you love v but get a bit bored by the lack of activities after the bands then go to glasto, if you want to go in a jacuzzi, chill out in a hotel, be involved in a 'burglary', go to a drag bar, see a cabaret show, learn how to ride a unicycle or watch flame throwers at the stone circle you can!

go to glastonbury!!!!!!!

Do you always rate a festival based on the cost of a bacon butty??

Think everybody knows V isn't the best festival by far...but its still a really good weekend.

By the criteria used my back garden is the best festival ever, brilliant accomodation, 5 mins in and out of the car park, music is fantastic and always what I like (even when I'm playing it), no queue for wristbands or toilets and most importantly the bacon butties cost about 50p!

Realistically V isn't the best and it isn't the worst. Reading is good until the mini-toff riot kicks in, Glasto is the greatest festival ever.

I would have to say I have been to V 4 times. And I have continued going because it is ridiculously laid back. Everyone is friendly and there is a nice atmosphere. I have never (until this year) seen a single fight or anything. However the year I went to Reading, it was the opposite. I hated it. I have never been around such a load of pretentious knobheads in my life. It seemed "their" idea of having fun was shouting abuse at people, setting fire to stuff and planning their rioting technigues for Sunday night. There was fighting, robberies and I felt unsafe and pissed off the whole time! We left early to ensure we missed the rioting children B)

This year I attended my first Download festival. It was AMAZING. There was no fighting, everyone was laughing and smiley and I have never met so many friendly people! Even when I got knocked over in the moshpit some random guy picked me up. That's how it's done people. Love thy neighbour!!

Next year I'm going to try this Glastonbury thing out!!!

I went to V for the first time this year, and I really enjoyed the line-up. In fact I enjoyed the whole weekend. The only problem was that there wasn't anything to do apart from the music and get drunk (I think I've been spoiled with Glastonbury, and I'm not keen on the latter).

All in all, a good weekend, apart from some tw*t decided to jump on our tent twice at 2am on the Sunday/Monday while we were asleep in it, and bent the tent poles and put a big hole in it, so we've had to buy a new one. Also, another of the same group of lads relieved themselves against another girls tent while she was asleep. Although a couple of people around said we should sleep in other empty tents, we decided we couldn't sleep there any more and packed up there and then. Drove home through the night for 3.5 hours, arriving back at 7am on 2 hours sleep.

Not sure I'll be going again. Also the food wasn't as good.
