Out of interest- which stuff did/ do you like of his solo stuff? Not Calico Skies even?

rams about the best of em, and i have to admit that i did nearly enjoy memory almost full, but only nearly.
but then i still have the memories that are the horror shows that are broadstreet, pipes of peace, back to the egg. theres a lot of guff in his repotoire
as i said earlier, i think the man was a genius and is one very few people to actually change music, and maybe its because those dizzy heights raised expectations beyond what is reasonable (for me at least)

Interesting. I may have trawl through and think about it myself. I did actually like some tunes on Pipes of Peace but hmmmm I'll have a retrospective sometimes soon.
To me Calico Skies could have come off the White Album....

i know its corny, and fictional character he maybe, but i can never forget that wings are alan partridge's favourite band - that kind of sums up his entire 'solo' career for me!
