I think this could happen actually - she'll also have her best of to promote which I would have thought fitted in with Glastonbury's 40th birthday.

Hmmm. Good shout Mike. Quite possible I woulda thought.
Wouldnt be my bag though.
Now if Stevie Wonder was coaxed down to Pilton on the other hand!??!

Good rumour, Michael.
I definitely wouldn't watch her. Something about a woman with more contours in her arms than the whole Popeye family just doesn't do it for me. And I hate her music.
Would be a very good crowd-puller for many people though. She'd be a good festival headliner.

Christ I hope not. Stupid, talentless, gap-toothed, child stealing media whore. The only reason I'd go would be if I happened to be carrying water balloons full of piss.

Where would she fit in? She doesn't seem like that good a headliner but at the same time she's a huge act.

She'd be a fantastic headliner.
I don't like her, but you can't say she doesn't put on a show. She IS huge.
The only thing I could possibly think might work against her playing is how much dough she'd demand.

Yeah love her or loathe her there is no denying she is one of the biggest live acts on the planet. Her latest tour was the highest grossing tour ever I think. I know her tickets are expensive but thats still an impressive feat.
I would watch her because I probably wouldn't ever go to a show of hers otherwise.

IMO she'd be the worst possible act the festival could book.
She's well past it. In fact she's so past it that she's probably desperate to play anywhere that'll have her in the hope it'll restore her to her former glory. Yet all the plastic surgery in the world couldn't restore her to her former glory (not that there was much glory there at any time anyway).
Anyway Eavis said last year that he won't book pop acts as headliner. Let's hope he meant it.

I dont think acts who mime should be allowed on the great stage or indeed anywhere during the festival. its performing arts not miming arts

What about all the pop acts who headlined the Main Stage last year? And the year before that? And the year before that? And the year bef.............

Wrinkly old has been so going on recent form there must be a chance. Will unfortunately be unable to see her if she's there as I'll be having my toenails pulled out with mole grips then.

I've always hated the watery non-attractive media-whore whose music is shite excepting Ray of Light (which was William Orbit anyway)... yet I'd feel a strange fascination drawing me to the only way I'd ever have the chance to see her mime live.... I suppose it's the same feeling those horror film fools get when they know someone has been horribly mutilated in the room next door and they just can't resist going to check out what's a-happenin...
Man U are grrrreat btw Neil.

it's a f**king dreadful idea. Won't bother me, as I'll be at Trash City or somewhere, but really, it's a stinker of an idea.

Isn't this usually the point at which anyone expressing a negative opinion on a touted pop act gets told to shut up, it'll be a great performance, and there are other stages?
Personally I'd rather she didn't play, she is hopelessly shit.
And I know there are other stages, it just reduces my choice of acts by one.
