I'm quite keen but currently experiencing a cash flow problem (i.e. spending all my money booking summer holidays). What's the latest safe time to wait to buy tickets? Do they sell out quickly?
Also trying to persuade a couple of festival veterans that it might be suitable for them. What's the age range like?

really interested in going to this festival as have heard it's amazing, not too bothered by headliners in general but just curious
but also, would you recommend this festival to a group of chilled out 19 year olds?

A pretty disappointing line-up really. I know Bestival never gets the massive acts, and that's not particularly what I want, but compared to last year this is pretty poor. Will wait to see who else is added before I get a ticket...

Fever Ray will be awesome. Can't wait to see what craziness she dreams up for the Bestival show. Check out any clips of her on youtube for a glimpse of what she's like.

Yes I would, that is myself and my friends! Bestival really is a brilliant weekend, I look forward to it all year and it never fails to disapoint, regardless of the music. I quite like not being too fussed about the music as there is no pressure to rush and see bands, you can just chill out and see random bands as you wander round, as well as ones you want to see.
Plus it's in a beautiful location!
:-)

I really want to go, I love the whole vibe of the festival and the acts are just a bonus!
Flaming Lips, Hot chip, delphic, fever ray, C&S, The xx, SBD and LCD soundsystem... woah
Thats enough for me but I'll wait til the sunday headliner is announced first, cheap too!

The train into Southampton train station is right next to the airport, costs about £3 single (10 mins)
Free bus from the train station to the ferry port (20 mins)
Foot passenger on the ferry over to the Isle of Wight is around £15 return (1hr)
Shuttle bus to the festival site costs about £3 single (20 mins)
Seems a lot of hassle but there is very little walking and very easy to do

I went last year from Glasgow, we got a train to London, then a train to Portsmouth, hovercraft to the Isle of Wight then the shuttle bus to the site. I can't remember how much it cost, I will find out, but I know it was cheaper than that estimate for flying! It was very straightforward as well.

Yeah you could do the train/coach cheaper but I'd rather pay £80 and get there in about 4 hours rather than the train which will take about 10 hours
