I've heard rumors that it might just happen! Libertines have said they will play festivals next year and were offered £2 million to play this year, do you think it could happen? I think that would just be the best headliner they could ever possibly get!

Personally, I hope not.

They deserve to play but not to headline, it would easily go down as one of the weakest headliners in recent years. The sycophants & NME faithful who have Doherty's cock jammed in their cheek would be ecstatic but the other 99.9% of the audience would be underwhelmed beyond belief.

It's difficult to judge where they'd fit on the bill. At TITP, they could headline the NME stage I'd think, as it's outdoors and probably big enough. As for Leeds though, they'd need to be on the main stage and I'm not sure they should be below anybody else.

I'd like to see them on the bill, not as headliners though.

I'd like to see either The Libertines, The Strokes or Aerosmith headline next year, although i think all 3 are pretty unlikely.

If they're available they'll play. Whether they headline or not is a matter of money, the money they want to play and the money Festival Republic are willing to pay for a headliner.

Libertines get rumoured for every festival. I'll believe it when I see it.

I think there's more chance of Barat playing solo TBH.

Obviously its not happening this year but I think they would make a great NME headliner.
Putting them against someone big like Greenday would work well

can still see them added, not as main stage headliner but maybe radio one tent headliner.
