whats the police like at leeds? many of them? many sniffer dogs ect. ?

There's actually not alot of Police at Leeds compared to other fests. Thats not to say that security won't be very strict on searching you.

It took us hours to get our tent back in its bag after putting it up...

Nah, they'll have a rummage in your rucksack but thats about it.

my first festival was the creamfields one last year and i was very surprized how strict it was however the hubby said (has worked at festys for years) that it was prob due to it being there first full weekend festival the camp site stayed intact on the last night so i think i still dont know what to expect

Depends what time you arrive. If you turn up during the rush hours then they may jusy have a quick look. If you turn up and its empty expect to get everything out.

My friend arrived on the friday morning about 3 years ago and had to take everything out of his bag, took him like 20 minutes
