Apparently they named their band after Alexis Fire, the world's only lactating contortionist stripper.

I thought this might be a thread suggesting that Them Crooked Vultures might replace them for their main stage appearance... bit greedy having two sets.
I always used to think it was the former, til I found out it was the latter

I really hope this is true

I could understand a band like Jimmy Eat World wanting to do a hits set and then a cult songs set but Alexisonfire, is there enough people wanting to see 2 sets by themI thought this might be a thread suggesting that Them Crooked Vultures might replace them for their main stage appearance... bit greedy having two sets.

Theres normally one band who does a double set each year.
it is Alexis on Fire.

Im confused as to how they choose the band who does 2 sets. What makes alexisonfire so deserving. Not a criticsm of them but dont get why they should play 2 sets and everyone else one. Also why not hae someone from the nme tent or fr stage doing the double set, why is it always a lock up band? To me its lazy booking.

100% agree
I could understand the whole Jimmy Eat World one. There a band who have a mainstreem following because of 3 or 4 well known songs and they have a large cult following, therefore its a good idea to have them do a small set on the main stage of their hits and then let them do a longer set inthe tent of all of the other songs.
I just dont get this years one. Yes I am aware that Alexisonfire have a good following but do they really have a mainstreem and cult following to warrant giving them a slot on the mainstage and Lock up, I have to say 100% no they dont and like it has been said, it just screams of a lazy booking

See I cant understand that either, there are several bands of different genres that could do a set of hits and then a longer set in a tent but they dont get the chance and when choosing their set have to make compromises. I dont see what makes jimmy eat world so special, i dont think any band regardless of genre should get that oppurtunity.

well i think it makes sense, since i know the mainstage set will comprise of mainly the new album and the previous album tracks, which were both big departures from thier older, more scream based sound. i can see the lock up stage set being a bit of an old school one for the alexisonfire fan.
cant wait, saw them in thier first venture over here about 5 years back and they were shite, but everytime ive seen them, theyve improved and are now a good live act. Would be nice to see the older stuff played with todays live set up.
