Who should have been in Bloc Party's spot this year?

Since I think most of us have agreed that the slot before Radiohead has been wasted on a band who played in the same place last year and one place down the year before, who do you think it should have gone to?
I think The Flaming Lips or The Strokes would have been perfect for it.

Beck- Another artist whose lack of recent UK touring has been frustrating, and would have fitted very well under Radiohead. The Flaming Lips would have been great as well.

The Beck/Radiohead combination at V festival a few years back was amazing. The Flaming Lips, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Mogwai (probably no where near big enough mind), Morrisey, New Order (even though thy are no more...), Sonic Youth..

The Strokes or Morrissey would have been just damn peachy.
Otherwise I can't be bothered to think of my own.

Beck isn't a bad shout at all, would have stifled (some of) my criticisms. I know it's not necessarily in keeping with the rest of the day, but if The Offspring (being over here at the time) weren't asked at all then that's pretty shit of the organisers as there just the sort of band the festival is lacking, might have made a bit of sense swapping them with Kaiser Chiefs (not much more though)
That said I'm not sure YYYs > Offspring > Radiohead is much more disjointed than Slayer > MCR > Placebo (I think that was the order anyway)

As has been well documented on here in the past, if I ever met Morrissey I would try to set him on fire. Or maybe just punch him as hard as possible in the throat, depends how much time I have

The Strokes, The Cure, The Stooges, Nine Inch Nails (Again), I don't think anybody would complain about any of them.

The Strokes will surely play next year? New album supposed to be out in March.

i don't think Bloc Party are badly placed this year, it's just a waste of time them doing the same thing every year!
Arcade Fire would have been a good call

I don't think Arcade fire would be that bad. Playing the same slot twice with a year gap in-between is no where near as bad as playing almost exactly the same slot 3 years in a row.

Offspring, Arcade Fire etc. would have been great but keeping it realistic by just going from bands that have played a UK fest this year: -
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (brilliant at Glastonbury)
NIN
Elbow
The Specials (a gamble, but also brilliant at Glastonbury)
Manics (I know they played last year but so did Bloc Party)
Sterophonics
