Tbh I dont want Slipknot as a headliner...

Subheadliner imo...

I'd rather we got maiden, and then either Foo Fighters/MUSE as a softer saturday headliner.
that would be good too. I only put Slipknot as headline cuz they headlined Saturday at Download

Swap round Lostprophets and Deftones (for size, not quality) and that looks like a decent guess, Lostprophets are bigger than Korn nowadays too.

Lostprophets might even be big enough to headline next year, depends how the new album swings. Definitely sub at least though.

Thinking about it I reckon swap Prophets and Motorhead and stick Motorhead above Korn and that would look about right.

Im referencing Freshman and JV games, which are next years players and teams.  Boyd had young kids playing, who are not varsity players, that beat players Ashland has on the varsity roster this year.

From Sonisphere Twitter:

#   Got told the headliners today. No f**king about!
about 10 hours ago   from TweetDeck

He also said on the forums that it looks like the announcement will be before christmas, which means we should find out the headliners and the first few bands within the next month.

Maiden are pretty much a given, but the other headliner is a bit of an unknown.  At first I was thinking Foo's but I'm starting to go against that now because Grohl is still pretty involved with Them Crooked Vultures and I doubt he'd commit to playing over here (and probably doing the Europe thing as a whole next Summer).

It seems to me that Muse are very possible, stadium dates just after in September, so I'm gonna guess either Soni or R&L's for them - the fact that its knebworth may appeal to them, so Soni's a big possibility for getting them.

Then theres Gun's N Roses, who recently announced the start of their world tour, Asia in December then over to Canada which has dates listed up til Febuary, I'm gonna guess they'll do the states and south America and then hit Europe for the summer festival circuit, so again very possible for Sonisphere.

i really dont think muse have any chance of veing at r+l becus their stadium dates are too close, and r+l will want england exclusive headliners, as always.

i think if we see muse anywhere this year, it'll be glasto on soni, which will be awsome

Aye thats a good point.  So soni looks more likely than ever.

And just to add, its Killimanjaro (who also run Sonisphere) who are doing Muse's dates next year, so that makes sonisphere ever so slightly more possible.

The only other band I could see headlining alongside Maiden, ( thats not GNR, Foo's or Muse) is RHCP as I hear they are looking to play dates next summer.  Theres also AC/DC but I seriously doubt soni would get both ACDC and Maiden...would be far too epic  :P

at sonisphere, Rammstein would have plenty of time to set up their stage show whilst the other stage band played, makes sense

Last I heard, attendence levels were 35,000, and 45,000 for the Saturday and Sunday Respectively,  considering the mac camping allotment was 40,000 and max overall alowance was 60,000 thats hardly selling badly.  Sure they gave a few thousand free tickets away, but still, for a festival in its first year, thats hardly bad.

Rammstein are seeming more possible now, but I wouldn't bet on it as a definet (atleast not to the extent Maiden seem to be confirmed), I'm still thinking GNR have a chance, as do MUSE, possibly foos aswell.
