Notice theres a campaign to get Daft Punk for the pyramid..............what about Leftfield reforming even for a one off for the anniversary. worth the ticket money alone everything else would be a bonus.

Everybody knows Leftfield tunes and in my opinion are the best techno band ever to grace a Glastonbury stage. And if you know dance music, Leftfield are miles ahead of Daft Punk.

Who knows? if theres a big enough response somebody might take notice.

The Left Field = Socialist Campaigning Group
Leftfield = Band.

Very very few people realise the names are different though.

You obviuosly dont know Orbital so! Ambient Pish!  :P

And what about "Melt" and "21st Century Poem" on Leftism? Slaming Dance tunes?

"Release the Pressure" is hardly banging techno and the likes of "Storm 3000" and "Song of Life" take ages to get going and when they do they are not exactly fist pumping stuff!

Dont get me wrong. I love Leftfield and would defo go to see them if there..........however they have to get the balance of their tunes right (like all who perfom) and there is actually potential for them to not produce.

I seriously doubt today that they would have a shit gig, but that said, I actually saw Leftfield back in 1996 and it was one of the worst gigs ever!! Carl Cox was on before them and everyone was going mad......The atmostphere was brilliant........and then when Leftfield came on it was like a come down..........all the stuff they played for the first 30-40mins was real down beat slow tempo and loads of people left as it was wrecking their buzz............

Yip I was there and the first half of their set was ?     ambient pish

if your honest with yourself the more upbeat Leftfield tunes are far superior to Orbitals best.

The people that left obviously didn't understand a Leftfield set which is a progressive build up

Orbital split and reformed what?  a year later !  after getting people to attend last ever English gig then two weeks later last ever Scottish one at T in the Park.

Daft Punk have been crap since the "around the world" muck and Orbital are famous for sunday morning comedown tunes.

I thought there would have been more support for Leftfield but seen as some morons think i'm talking about a stage/ area...  what chance have you got?

I think their last gig was in 2004.  They reformed this year.

That's five years.  2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008.

Can you count?

The leftfield was a very important stage, the departure of which underlined to many that the festival was becoming more commercialised.

Not particulary odd then people who are first and foremost interested in Glasto should think you are referring to that.  Although to be fair, your opening post made it fairly obvious.

I love Orbital me, and would happily have them back.  I really enjoyed them at the gig I saw them in June.  I wouldn't call their music particularly sunday morning music, especially ?, Chime, Satan, stuff like that.

I would definitely go for the first time since 2002 if there was a reformed Leftfield on the bill.
