Hello this is my first time at leeds, been to v for the last 6 years and needed a change. Anyway what are the bars like at leeds? do you have to get tokens and is there a proper queing system? Got a little pissed off at v with all the dicks pushing in from the sides.

Nope, just a bar. Although the queues don't seem too bad as there are plenty of bar staff, the bars are pretty long and the pints are pre-pulled by machines.

One bit of advice I would give , is

If the bars around the smaller stages are busy , head to the right of the main stage.  They have
a large bar there and it is usually very quiet and you get served straight away.  It will get busy
between Kaisers and KOL , but that is to be expected.

We usually stand that way when we are watching bands on main stage and you can keep your
eye on waiting times etc.

Enjoy !

Bad experience? :D

I love the Gaymers Pear at Leeds but I think the festival is the worst in terms of variety of alcohol.

For instance, at Rockness you had the Main bars selling Carling, Gaymers (R,egular and Pear), Vodka, Gin, Whiskey, Bacardi Breezers. There was also, A pimms Bus, A Southern Comfort tent (selling Cocktails), a Whiskey bar and a real ale bar.

There was a Jack Daniels bar at leeds last year, or maybe the year before. Also, near the fairground in the campsite they have a hot cider bar.

That was 2007 , did not return last year.

They also sold food , and had a huge bbq grill going on , serving burgers with special JD BBQ sauce.

I never tried em , but it must have been better than owt from a burger van !

I miss the Patak's curry van that used to be on the right of the main stage, that was brilliant.

My advice is to get Bag in a Bos stuff from Tescos (3ltr for £6), much easier to carry and if you drink half in the camping area you can usually put the rest of the bag down your pants and get it into the arena... or you can put vodka minitures down your pants!
