I've never been to Knebworth before, so does anyone know the score with getting booze etc?

I'm used to Reading where you can walk out from the festival and into town to get booze, or buy crates on the street etc, but I assume Knebworth isn't like that.

Any ideas?

the organisers wont miss an opportunity to rake in some sales revenue by offering cold crates from the back of a fridge wagon methinks.

Yeah cold crates will be sold, £30 i think is the price. So far we know there be Carlsberg, Gaymers and Jager, as well as real ale. Price for fager is around £3 i think, and £3.50 for a pint.

If you don't have a car you'll struggle.

I doubt you'll have the back of a lorry near the entrance scenario that you have at Reading because of where it is (although I'll be over the moon if I'm wrong). I know for certain that you won't be able to walk from the site to Stevenage (it's about 30-40 minutes) because there are police restrictions in place to ease traffic flow. It might be possible to get the shuttle bus, but I would've thought the shuttle buses are only there to help you get to the festival on Thursday/Friday and get back on Monday.

Your best bet is to buy from Stevenage and get the shuttle bus in. I know they are selling crates at the festival itself, but there's a big premium. I know they were originally looking at the £30 mark for 24 cold cans. Whether that has changed or not I don't know.

Id have thought the shuttle buses would run near enough at all times because saturday/sunday arrivers will need to get to and from the site, and my understanding is that its on the otehrside of a motorway so its impossible to walk to and from.

Im just gonna head out to the local asda or tesco (which are within a mile afaik) and get stuff on the friday, will save me money - although I guess it wont be cold, buying the crates at the fest will atleast be cold. So i may rethink that, particularly if its realllly hot.

Oh I agree. I gasped at the £30 price tag (still won't be paying that myself), but given just how difficult it'll be to get beer after you've entered the festival, £1.20 or so a can isn't at all bad. Better than £3.50 for a possibly cold beer in a paper cup.

Yeah thats true, I suppose it aint all bad since it'll be cold (well for a bit) I mean, ASDA were selling 2 15 crates of fosters for £15 I think, which is way cheaper, but I guess theres the hassle of going to get it, not to mention the fact it wont be cold. I think everyones just so used to the absolutely cheapness alcohol can be at supermarkets, and its a rude awakening elsewhere :P

Warm beer or cold water? It's a difficult one.

They say beggers can't be choosers, but if I were begging and given Fosters I'd politely request urine instead.

To be fair to Asda they were doing 48 bottles of Stella for £15 a week or two back. I hate those size bottles, and obviously no good for Sonisphere, but that's still an awesome deal.

Asda doing 30 cans of Carling for £15, only fun size 440ml cans but beets the shit outta drinking fosters or carlsbeg any day. Good tip for cooling the cans, if its damp underfoot, stash sum cans under your tents ground sheet, gets 'em a bit muddy but also cools 'em down nicely (and that tip came from the wife, believe it or not). :P

Haha :P People hate on fosters alot, its one of my least favourites when it comes to beer, sure, but I dont think its that bad :) That deal on Stella sounds pretty goddamned awesome, if it were in can form then it'd be godlike :P

Hmm, ASDA better still doing this deal, I hope so as Carling is pretty decent, more so than fosters, and one of the similar deals with cider, but I think its stronbow on offer :P

Carling is by far the worst, even Fosters is slightly better than Carling. A bloke who goes into a pub and orders a Carling is the same level as a bloke going in and ordering a small gin & tonic in my opinion!

Guys,

Only coming in for the Sunday, can you actually bring cans into the fest or only allowed in the camping areas?

They'r only allowed in the camp site.

Also, the shuttle bus is running all weekend and you can use it to get to shops near Stevenage Station
