As I said in the other thread. They're not really going to book an Abba tribute band. It's a secret band, most likely Slipknot.

It's practically impossible, but can you imagine if when they're due to start the intro to BYOB starts and its an unannounced return of System of a Down!

That would be the greatest thing ever... but almost impossible (I only say almost because all of the band members are alive and therefore it's not impossible, it's just as close as you can get to impossible without actually crossing that line)

Ha ha ha, this is hilarious. I really hope it is Bjorn Again just to see all the metaller-than-thou types getting all f**ked off.

No mention of it on their tour schedule - but was only announced today. Though the date is free.

How about Nightwish? The current singer used to be in an Abba tribute band

don't put these far-fetched ideas in my head :(

also - imagine if it really is bjorn again. the website says they will be performing abba songs in a hard rock/heavy metal style (which i can't picture clearly after looking them up on youtube). but what if it is?! imagine the uproar.

I'd love it to be bjorn again. Would take the decision making process as to whether to go again next year!!

Actually, Bjorn again self confirmed for sonisphere months ago, they pulled the date off their site. It most likely is Bjorn again, doubt its someone else, they play Reading & Leeds usually, so I wouldnt say they dont fit in, especially as they adapt to a rock/metal style for the fest.

Not exactly pleased with the band, but, theres no doubting they are pretty big  and it gives me an excuse to check bohemia, if nothings good on there then I wouldnt mind watching Bjorn anyways.

Im just pleased Anthrax are staying, with John f**king Bush!

Although if it all is a hoax and a secret set by someone else, more relevent to the fest, then that would be all sorts of awesome.

well it would kinda be illegal to announce a band that are not playing....so its defently Bjorn Again. imagine the trouble they wud get in if they announced a band and people bought a ticket based on this announcement and then they turn around and go 'only joking'

Seems more than a little strange that an Abba tribute act are above Soil and Skindred. There's a chance that they'll be moved to the bohemia stage and a bigger band will take their place, like the Apocalyptica/Metallica switch at the (Galbraith run) first Download

The organisers would have a hard job to push the quality vs quantity arguement for next year if they were to put Bjorn again so high up and on the main stage.

If they played it would seriously affect ticket sales next year.

They ain't been at any of the Leeds fests I've been to over the last 10 years! They're home is the likes of V, T and any other single lettered festival!

Bjorn Again only played Reading in 1992. Nirvana headlined and hand picked the bill...so BA were alongside the likes of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Melvins, Pavement and L7. They had one of the biggest crowds of the day and went down a storm. I remember them playing a cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Yeah I was at Reading in 92. They went down an absolute storm.

But narrow minded metal fans will absolutely hate them, so it will be bottles of piss time. A very weird decision.

They have been playing a lot of the festivals recently. However, they have line ups which allow for such diversity and don't adhere to a quality / quantity policy.

I'm sure the organiser would chalk it up as line up diversity and have a chuckle to themselves!
