I have heard a vicious rumour that the cold beer amnesty will finally be hitting V at Weston Park this year...

Anyone else heard this?  I don't want to risk taking Tesco Value lager for it not to be there!

Do I have the guts to buy Tesco Value at about 28 a can????

The only thing stopping me is not knowing how many trucks there will be, because I bet the queues will be

HUGE

(as they are for everything at V)   :P

It will most likely be outside the arena entrance, where the Lynx Manwash has been the last couple of years.

I still can't believe they exchange any lager for carling.

I would pee myself laughing though if they changed the rules and said you ahve to bring warm BRANDED beer and change it for a cold Carling.

Imagine all the cheapscates left with their warm tesco value lager!!!

Why does the imaginary misfortune of other make me smile!?

How many cans can you change at once? Could you just go up with 10 cans of value lager and get 10 Carling back? Or is there a restriction?

That's why we developed the Cold Beer Amnesty!! Festival goers can relax and enjoy a perfectly chilled beer with their mates by swapping ANY unopened can of warm beer for an ice cold can of Carling.

So that proves the theory of Tesco lager for Carling

People, people, people.

This is great news. I was at Leeds a couple of years back when they did this, and it was great.

As it says, you can exchange ANY can of beer. We stocked up on shed loads of netto beer.

They don't actually swap it straight for a can of beer, they give you a token in exchange. you then take your token(s) to the stall at the side and get your can/ crate of beer.

This means that you can trade in all your crap beer in on the first day (to get the job out of the way) and just get loads of tokens to trade in whenever you like.

The only down side is that carrying all the crap booze will leave you chiefed!

I have bottled it and bought Carling... £7 for 15 though - Bargain!

At least then if the queues are huge I've got semi-decent warm lager to drink, instead of Tesco value!

So has anyone actually done this? Strolled up with say 48 cans of Tesco value and got 48 carling lager vouchers?

What do the Carling people get out of this? Cant see why they do this????

I did it at Leeds fest a few years ago!

All they get out of it is loads of people trying their product all weekend, and free advertising. They wont actually be losing that much money in the great scheme of things.

Yeah. I'm taking a shed load of Morrissons lager - 90p for 4 cans!

Last time we took a load of out of date stuff too, which was a good place to get rid!

Check the official carling site just to clear any doubts in your mind!

They exchange them for tokens which look like poker chips, but say Carling on (or they did last time) - black ones were equivalent to 4 cans, and red ones for 1 can...

I think Carling also recycle the cans too, so they might make some money back that way. But yeah, they get free advertisment.
