I'm interested to find out why you link the three :P

I haven't. I was just linking from what Timespeedup said about people wanting to go to similar festivals, although BT does have a similar line up as what you would find at BD :P

Issue is mate, all line ups for smaller festivals are similar. We only have a certain level of band that we can afford and the same goes for next year. BDs headliners are a lot bigger than we could afford but if you look at various other festivals around our size you will see the same names cropping up.

I know, and I was not having a go. My orignal point was in comparing festivals and wanting something similar, and especially Timespeedup comparing BT to Alchemy. At an early stage in your festivals you are just getting your own identity.

It's not a big issue, and I know that many small festivals can be stuck with what bands are on the circuit that season.

This should really be a discussing in the general forum, rather than in your thread. Sorry :P

Belated thanks to Rich, Flip, Lisa, Scouse and all the other hard working organisers/volunteers for giving us such a fantastic time -- we loved every minute, and will definitely be back next year as we've already booked early tickets  :P   :P

Will be seeing some/many of you at some or all of our other festies : Glasto (working duties now confirmed, see ya in one of the Info Tents), Endorse It, BD, Alchemy  :P

ETA to add a PS to the above : I have an actual job now (since 10th May) after 18 months unemployment since moving to Swansea at the end of 2008, so I can properly afford to get to these other festies now withut having to rely on debbie's charity so much, , and I'll have enough to spend on beer and fun too!

The King Blues (especially) kicked arse, and were well worthy headliners.

Far too many excellent other acts to list  :P      :P

So glad the weather gods smiled this time, BT deserved no less after 2009 ...  :P

Already looking forward to seeing the new site next year ....

The lovely and talented Magiclantern crew who do our Visuals and a few DJ slots also took time to knock this together. Quality is much better on the dvd, seems to have deteriorated a little on the upload to youtube..

- Part 1

- Part 2

I think this shows the diversity of the dance tent and has some class interviews n mainstage stuff n'all...

...part 3 to follow later..

This is starting to make me feel a little uncomfrotable really. Is alchemy following BT, or is it getting it's own identity. Is BT following BD in fact? Do you want to go to a few facsimilies of festivals throughout the year or try something new??

mmm
With time I believe Alchemy will develop a identity all of its own :)  ;)

Or if you like BT and want something similar, you could try Alchemy. Poster did request a similar festival.

Edit: Interesting point though. BT seem to want to distance themselves from being seen as BD's little cousin. No idea how Alchemy feel about such things.
I have no prob with people comparing me with other fests am quite flattered even - think all fests have certain simularitys and some of the same bands too but am sure Alchemy will develop a atmoshphere all of its own with time!  ;)

I feel that your are right to be flattered, Alchemy took bits from influences that worked ... and it worked. Yes it will develop its own identity over the next few years but there is nothing wrong with providing similarities in the early days, people generally covet what they know!!!

And on a personal note, i had a bloody good time and throughly enjoyed the atmosphere that this little festy delivered!!!! really looking forward to Sept xxx

Festivals are pretty much all the same anyway - field, bands, hippies and stuff. Some just attract nicer people than others and at the end of the day thats all that really counts. See this for our new video http://www.vimeo.com/13571520
