Glasto will be celebrating it's 40th ANniversary next year. Will Michael and Emily be planning anything special/spectacular to mark this event? Or will it be pretty much like any other Glasto?
Post your suggestions here. This is not to be confused with the "How can Glasto be improved in 2010" thread which is more constructive criticism about could be done to improve it i.e. cheaper food and drinks, more taps, ban flags, etc, etc. This thread is for what you'd like to see at Glasto's 40th Anniversary.
I'll hand it over to you lot.......

40th anniversary is traditionally Ruby. What about a ruby red theme? Or free rubies for everyone

How about a Birthday Party theme? I reckon it would go down a storm
I'm thinking:
Banners, flags and balloons
Jelly and ice cream parties with food fights
Musical Statues in the kids and theatre fields
Fancy Dress competition

Just a quick one from me. I'd like to see Supertramp headlining next year. They'd be amazing on the Pyramid Stage!

I'm sure at one point I read they were trying to get an act from each year of the festival to play. I'm not sure how that would work, but it would be interesting to see.
I'd love to have Fleetwood Mac headline too, that would be superb.

How about the same price for tickets as the first one in 1970 i.e. £1 entry and all the milk you can drink!

I think the 40th Anniversary Glasto should have more of a 70's/80's vibe and atmosphere to it. Go back to it's roots a little. I'd love to have gone to festivals during this period(I may well have actually, but only as a kiddie with my parents), so it would be great to goto Glasto next year and feel like you're back in the care free days of the 70's or 80's. Whilst there should still be modern bands in the line-up, bands from the 70's/80's should feature more prominantly in the line-up than they do currently. It would be great if for example bands/artists like Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, David Bowie, Paul McCartney were Pyramid Stage Headliners.
There could also be a Glastonbury museum. Featuring photos and posters from Glasto's of years gone by, as well as various compiled films people can watch.
Naturist Field - as it looks like nudity may well no longer be tolerated on the public areas of the site anymore, would be great if there was a naturist field where people can get back to nature and without any hassle from security staff or police. I know there's the two onsite saunas where people can be naked - but these are very small areas. I think a Naturist Field would actually be surprisingly popular!

This is a fantastic idea. Where do we start? Can we get some space from Michael if we ask really nicely?
